A plan with rustoleum? Is it the paint or something else?
You got it wrong (but that is ok). Rustoleum is my truck's name (That I didn't name her [thank my sister for that]). She used to be a plow truck 10-12 years ago that I bought five months ago today. The plan is to return her to work truck status (plowing )
Haha sorry i didn't even think to look at your sig... And yeah i think the 205 gets better mpg because it isn't taking power from the back axle making it so you need to burn more fuel to move the wheels. Or something like that The 205 only applies power to the front when it is in that selection. Joseph if you weren't all the way on the east coast area a t-case trade wouldn't be a bad idea...

Yeah. I agree too. If you happen to find yourself in Fort Wayne with TGM & the proper tools and equipment (since I don't have some of the stuff to pull the transfer case) I'll be more than happy to help you pull the NP203 & put in the NP205.
Of course the np205 will get better performance, including mileage. Since it's a part time TC it doesn't have to push the front axle unless it's engaged.
Haha that would take some time. The distance between us is quite large. Also i think i have all the tools i need in my tool boxes i just don't have a tranny jack to bring it down. Which is fine, i'm sure i could manhandle it, it's only around 100 pounds or something haha
I don't know how true this is but I heard that the NP205 gets a little better gas mileage than the NP203. Not sure how true that is though lol.
the 203 is a full time 4wd t-case, the 205 is a part time t-case w/ a dedicated 2wd position. It would have to aid in getting better gas mileage since it uses less engine power to drive the rear axle. Back in the mid 70's during the big gas 'shortage' part time conversion kits for the 203's were a big ticket item. All 3 of the big domestic manufacturers ( 4 if you count AMC) all offered full time 4wd in their pick ups and utility vehicles. ( grandfathers to todays' SUV) People were discovering that they didn't need full time 4 wheel drive to drive around the paved highways to go to a grocery store.
This is what pushed the development of the cast aluminum, chain drive t-cases that started coming out in the early 80's that are still out there doing their jobs to this day.
6 days no power.. but I'm not complaining about it..
