get my HONKING new OEM made in US International Harvester water pump and was wondering if anyone has the replacement o-rings for the filter shut off i could buy..
Carl:
Couple questions for you, as I'm looking to be going this route soon.
Where did you get your pump from?
Do you know the brand? (Aliant, Eastern Industries, ??)
I am knee deep in a bunch of other stuff on truck so water pump will have to wait till another time. the one i have on there now is good, no leaks etc, so no rush. I did get 4 gallons of rotella ELC at tractor supply store in town. Plan to do a complete flush and replace with new stuff, along with new drive belt, upper radiator hose (that goes around belt) and replace tensioner and idler pulleys.

Not sure what you mean...mine is still working great. Spin on filter that is out-of-the-way is also great. Dieselsite is even now making a kit for the install and selling them at a quick pace. They even had a special lower hose made for it. They want way to much for the hose, but it is a perfect fit.
I bought it from Dieselsite because I didn't want to go chasing all the other parts. It is a really good kit. Prob worth money. You will be amazed how much heavier it is than the stock pump. I painted my so it won't rust since it is cast iron. Hardest part is getting the fan off and on by yourself.
Agreed, but sometimes you get what you pay for. You can have it for cheaper if you buy the pump, modify it yourself and then source all of the parts. Although, for me and my time it was easier just to get the kit from Diesel Site with a dual alternator upper hose and billet thermostat housing.
The install went great, fit and finish were great. The billet thermostat housing just recently starting leaking. I contacted Diesel Site about getting a new o-ring but they claimed a small film of sealant/RTV between the pump and the billet housing would fix it and it did.
Like JT250 said, the difference between the IH pump and the OEM one are drastic.
