Yes, just to the right of the tree in the middle.

That's an eye chart, for sure...
Next time give the zoom feature on yer camera a try. j/k

I think I see him to the right of the Pine in the center of the pic.

There's a Sika deer somewhere in this pic...snapped this one in Delaware:

Tough to tell...looks like a 4x4.

He'll probably be on someone's plate in a month or two.

I think a 3x3, but it is hard to tell for sure. We had deer walking through camp every day. This was about 100yds from camp, and I was walking the dog. They have some kind of shooting restrictions in this recreation area, and I don't know the details. But judging by the quantity of deer we saw, I would say they don't get hunted.

Bocephus got backed down by a doe on the first evening, and I was sorry I didn't have the camera with me. He was concentrating on pinching one off, when I saw a doe walking up behind him, and she was pissed off. She was stamping her hoofs and moving toward him, and seemed to be trying to bluff him into running away. And it worked, once she got his attention. He kept his eyes peeled after that.

Nice camping spot, Bill. That peak in the background still has snow.

We're headed up to Silver Lake Friday for our first weekender of the year.

The Loop should be really nice too. All the lakes are so full up there. Rush Creek was flowing very high, right into Mono. Mono Lake is as full as I can ever recall seeing it. The water is up to the salt grass all along the western shore. Better go see the Tufa while you still can. They may be covered up soon.

This is Robinson Creek looking out from our campsite.

We didn't have any on Robinson, surprisingly. But we drove up Green Creek, around the Beaver dams, and they were terrible.

Didn't drive around the loop, so I don't know.

That's the best news I've heard about Mono in a loooooooonnnnngggg time.
If we could string together a few years like this past, maybe it'll work its way down to Owens lake. I know, I know. But I can dream can't I?
I'm all for folks getting water but what was done to the eastern sierra is tragic.
Oops, did I open a can of worms?

“16 grand/yr” is too short an answer – seems I’ve turned it into a long story…

I was born in a log cabin….

Ok, too far back.<O</O
<O</O
My better half drove the new Ex in Illinois from 2000 to 2003 – maybe 60,000 miles.
Moved to France with the wifey (a fantastic adventure – overcame countless hurdles together – and I learned to appreciate), that Ex mostly sat in the garage or was only used on snowy days (it had to wait until I came home for a vacation – typically August – to wash off the winter road salt; not that I’m bitter or anything) by our daughter from 2003 to 2006 (she stayed in IL to go to college – looking back I think she could have benefitted from an Ex-US perspective, but, boyfriends… you know the story).<O</O

Moved back to Cali (left CA in 1985 – Iowans lern’d me at korn seed skool and I stayed in the corn belt for years) in Nov 2006. Ex had about 70G on the odo.

<ONow she has about 150K, so that makes roughly 16 Large/year.<O</O

I live 10 miles from work so I put about 6000 miles/yr back and forth. Quite a few weekends family camping and the annual Christmas/New Year DED camping trek – few Racks/yr.

Typically when I travel for work I fly (WA, ID, MO, or out of the country), but the local trips to seed production areas – Ventura Co, Lompoc, Santa Maria, Salinas, SJV, and occasionally Woodland, Imperial/Yuma valley, I’ll drive. My least favorite is to San Quintin, B.C., but that’s in someone else’s company car or rental. Anywho, not enough Co miles to justify a company car (policy). Which is fine by me since they’re a pain butt (I drove a CC for 18 yrs) with the constant paperwork for anything and everything: driver training, monthly vehicle inspections (actually, that’s a good idea), random drug testing (need a smiley peeing in a cup), post incident testing (hmm, that's good too), annual testing, peer driver feedback, supervisor drives, tax implications, tracking every single 1/10th mile company vs. personal…. I know it’s a decent deal financially, but I highly value some freedoms… 20 yrs ago I’d have felt differently, but now I equate Freedom of Choice with what I drive (or meebe just getting’ old ‘n stubborn).<O</O

…and I’d get depressed driving a chebby econobox in company white.

Wow, miles, history, philosophy – only on FTE
