We've been looking into solar. A friend from school and his family got the panels and had everything wired but it took forever for them to get the "OK" to turn the stuff on. They finally have it on and they really like it, they just hated all the difficulties in the beginning in having someone from the city(LB) inspect it, and all those little factors.
We have a refrige in the house and an older one in the garage and I know that thing is affecting our bill. We are kinda sorta looking to see if there are any of those gov incentives/rebates out there that would kinda ease the cost to replace the 8 year old one in the house and move it to the garage and get rid of the old one out there.
Has anyone totally "unplugged" the so-called vampire accessories? such as sleeping laptops, cell chargers, tv's, etc? Has it made a difference? Out bigger electronics are on those special surge protector power strips so they could all turn off with one click but we've just never really done it.
