The 78 is my fav also. Even in a truck. 79 is also a good bronk. I got my 85 for $1600 with a set of 33X12.5 on custom wheels and 33.5's on the stock wheels. The front hub caps are AWOL and cost like $89 bucks. Got the back center caps and they cost like twice as much. It's sure been a good truck. No problems yet. I love driving it. Rides better than the 90 Ranger by far on these dirt roads we have. A little thirsty it is. Best I got with new Waren locking hub's (had full time Auto) is 9 mpg. That sucks literally. Gonna redo the Edlelbroc's metering rods and slick 50 all the boxed for a few more.
Yes there is a lot to be said about the EB's and it's all good. What a cool truck they are. Was one in town about a 70 with the orange paint and white strips. Really looked good and ran good also. But as with most from the coast the salt air had got to her. He sold it and now it just sits along the street in Ketchikan waiting for some love. Still looks damn good from 60 feet.
If I had the ground and a shop I would try and save them all. Again. So many times I have had to leave a yard full of cool classic iron and move on. I am really good with mechanical stuff. Not so good with girls. And they always get the home. Than call the crusher just to show me they have the power.
Yeah. I liked the 78 but it was lifted so much taht I was having a helluva time with drivelines and didn't wanna mess with having custom stuff made. Plus I didnt feel like buying another lift kit to lower it lol.
I swapped axle housings as the perches were rounded giving me crazy axle wrap. The front shaft was worn way out but still kinda worked lol.

Ah that truck, it doesn't seem lifted too much but axle wrap isn't fun. My neighbor had made custom radius arms for the rear end on the same truck that he is lifting. He has already finished the conversion from front coil to front leafs, and has the frame painted and waiting. I think next is the axles and the body. Their doing a lot of work to it..
You know, one of these days i will pull my grille and my headlight trim and paint them black. I like that look much more.
