the one on my 1980 was similar but I don't think the spot for the plate was as deep? maybe the step bumper was an option that everyone got?
step bumper is sorta useless for a 6'' lift.. my foot goes on my hitch anyways
I know you have mentioned it.. but how much do you think all the CARC cost you? My last liner completely failed when we had our ice storm. Was sort of the *ultimate* test for an underbody liner (held up against snow + salt), but still, i gotta get something real on my frame or I'm gonna lose it.
Well the Carc is actually free. I cleaned our motorpool out and found some cans of it. The Army won't let us paint at our level so I was told to either dump and dispose of it or I could have it. Unfortunately I am down to my last little quart can. It was originally made by Sherwinn Williams, I have went to the local shop but they can't get it. They did give me a number to another chemical coating company.
get some more for free and then sell some to me.. ive been telling myself since you first mentioned it that next money I come into was gonna be for CARC and now you tell me I can't just go out and buy it?
there's that other stuff, forget what it's called but everyone uses it? starts with a "P" I think? anyways, I hate it, it holds up just about as well as the paint I use and that's my only other option.
yeah, that's it. One coat held up as well as two coats of rustoleum high performance for me and costs a bit more.
I just used a test portion on my rear axle, it's possible oil or something messed it up.. but if I spend a ton for undercarriage paint/coating, it better hold up to oil, mud, salt, snow, ice, whatever I throw at it at least for a couple of years, ya know?
This is the only picture i have for the time being of my rear bumper, it's hard to see but it looks similar to yours. Of course mine has a huge bend in it for some reason... As for paint, i use whatever is cheaper at the local Walmart They have all seemed to hold up well as long as it was prepped right. I haven't really checked but my track bar has like 3 thin coats of green and it gets covered in oil and road grime everyday, not to mention the muddy water and stuff i drive through sometimes.

Here's a few showing the side openings with a piece of stock glass held in place. Not too much bigger.
