I was just thinking the same. And you are correct! I thought the headlight and trim looked familiar. And now that you said it, you can clearly see the IH fenders and hood shape.

I suspect any frontal protection has been removed along with the fender. Otherwise, what a waste, all that hardening of the rest of the vehicle and they left the radiator exposed, unprotected.
A vehicle from the 1940s would not have had suspended brake and clutch and a dished steering wheel.

I would probably haul it to the scrap yard. I just don't see anything there worth salvaging, but maybe I don't appreciate a custom vehicle when I see one.

I believe that is necessary to protect anyone within 6 feet of the truck (the approved social distance) against the offgassing of the oxidising iron.

Iron oxide

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
oxidized iron (rust)Iron oxides are chemical compounds composed of iron and oxygen. There are sixteen known iron oxides and oxyhydroxides, the best known of which is rust, a form of iron(III) oxide.[1]

And what sheet metal there is looks like no earlier than a 1957 IH
