Does anyone have a template and/or measurements for proper drilling of the the West Coast Jr. mirror mounts? I have a nice original FoMoCo pair that I would like to install on my 1966 Ford F100.
Thank You!
Dan M.
Sorry I did not see this sooner. I imagine I am far too late to be of any help. But, I have I.S. 714 which has all the details if you still need them.
Jolly,
Where did you get those mirror heads?
How are they attached to what looks like the original style arms that have the mirror pressed on?
I've got the repo original style round ones but wouldn't mind being able to switch out the heads for some thing bigger when we tow the 1962 Shasta trailer behind the '65 F100.
Are you in VA of Cali? Saw the Cali plates on the truck in your photos.
I'm in VA. The truck was purchased in CA. (less rust)

Chad,
Can you post the instructions for mounting the West Coast Jr mirrors. I'd like to replace my Camper Special mirrors with Jr mirrors and would like to use the factory mounting locations if possible. I have a few different sets available but no original door to see the mounting.
Western Jr. Mirror - Instruction Sheet I.S. 714 - Copyright 1961.
I was cleaning it up to get rid of some yellowing in 1/6th of the whole that came in as grayscale, but I think I'll stop and post what I have right now.
Thanks. I guess what I should have asked for was West Coast Jr Swing Lock mirrors. I didn't realize the mirrors that came with the Camper Special were also called West Coast Jr. Looking at those instructions though I think mine are mounted a little bit back from what the instruction sheet shows. I'll need to check tomorrow. In any case though I'm taking those off and putting on the swing lock style.

West Coast is an aftermarket (auto parts store) term. Ford called them Western Mirrors from day one. There were several different types, see Chads pic in post #109 for one example.
Here is the pic (upper) of the 1965/72 Western Jr. Swing-Lock mirror (click on the pic twice to enlarge it).

Thanks, I think now I've got it. The picture you posted shows the brackets that the mirror head mounts to bolted to the main arm. The two sets pictured with my truck the brackets clamp to the arm. The two sets also have two different styles of brackets where they bolt onto the door.
How/where can you find the bars for the West(ern) mirrors?? I don't care if they are Rotunda or aftermarket.
What about dimensions?? I picked up this 65 that has these big beast on it, and I am looking to go a little smaller. I think the Jr will fit the bill. But i cant find any place that mentions the distance from mounting point to mounting point. I don't really want to drill more holes in the doors if I don't have to.
O'rielly sells these for $10 ea. I had to make the slugs out of 1/2" bolt shanks. The passanger slug had to be drill and tapped on a angle for more adjustment. They fit fine in the stock arms and are a vast improvement.[img][/img]
