thanks , i was thinking they could have been cut down tow mirrors , im thinking that mine had regular west coast style or however many similar ones thee were tow mirrors originally , as it has spots where it had the mounts, and there no hole for the support legs ,where those pictured above. i like them except they look goofy to me standing up but laying on they're side the passenger mirror head cant be adjusted to be able to see without raising the arm way up ,other wise the side of the head closest to the door hits the arm, now to fix this id have to have some mirror heads with long enough thread studs to washer them up so the head could clear.... is there any? , i could get replacement style like whats on it only better from "Oreallys" for $9.78 identical to whats on it except theyre polished stainless..
ya, i like them except i need a head with longer studs so i can washer the passenger side up so that i can adjust it far enough to see without hitting the arm, because I think they look better long ways than standing straight up..but ive been giving so thought to 90s power mirrors...but they will have too look right i dont want them looking cobbled up...but with a mirror head that looks EXACTLY like whats on it only its stainless at oreilys for $9.89 a head..thats not bad.
Great Caesar's Ghost!, I did not even think to look in my book, cuz I figured the Western Jr. styles were the only ones available and just added aftermarket . I must admit, I do like the look of the non-telescoping ones, though! I guess you could run them without that extra little brace like the green truck does, long as you are careful! If you know of a source, I would be interested!
Does anyone have a template and/or measurements for proper drilling of the the West Coast Jr. mirror mounts? I have a nice original FoMoCo pair that I would like to install on my 1966 Ford F100.
These are what were on my Grandpa's truck when we got it. Notice the antenna is on the driverside as well.....
I should have looked back at this thread sooner.
I just mounted my larger mirrors to my original mounts like you showed in post #53. I almost caused a wreck the other day as my right side mirror was so high it blocked my view of the oncoming car while I was at a stop. He didn't have to stop, but lucky for me, he did. So I lowered my mirrors today using the method you showed earlier.
Before
After
EDIT: And I rotated them vertically after I got the convex mirrors to eliminate the blindspots.
I'm looking to replace the mirrors on my truck. Not looking for the mounts just the mirror itself and having trouble finding one with a flange mount my arms would bolt through. Any idea if these are a Ford option or aftermarket?

^ Aftermarket, not genuine Ford. No 1960's truck had a mirror like this.
A somewhat similar genuine Ford mirror was introduced in 1973.
Jolly,
Where did you get those mirror heads?
How are they attached to what looks like the original style arms that have the mirror pressed on?
I've got the repo original style round ones but wouldn't mind being able to switch out the heads for some thing bigger when we tow the 1962 Shasta trailer behind the '65 F100.
Are you in VA of Cali? Saw the Cali plates on the truck in your photos.
