I was on the roof of my (1996 new to me camber) and the wight rubber coating is mostly gone and its all black now. Looking at Liquid Rubber 2 part system to redo it
In the USA its $350ish for 5 gallons in Canada its $750
First trip was great! i gotta mess with the fridge but otherwise everything worked and we had a lot of fun. came home today to get stuff around the house done.
Now that winter is basically over, I fixed our campers heater. Turned out the sail switch had some dust bunnies on it. Works perfect now that we don't need it haha.
Just bought the Sherpa on Mothers Day and are getting ready to take it and the trailer out next weekend for the first time. Looking forward to hooking up and dragging with it to see how she does.
After installing new springs I thought I would eliminate the Weight Distribution Hitch. Hooking up the trailer the rear sat only 3/4".
While I did not have a full complement of dogs, guns and ammo etc, total load difference is about ~250 lb. In reality the WDH itself along with bars et al is about 90 lb. Almost a wash in weight.
Drove smooth, no porpoising.
Had a level site and I left the trailer hitched used the tongue jack to raise it about 1/2" did not even need to place the wheel chocks.
I'm not an X guy, just a lurker around here, but I would still run the WDH. Removing weight from the rear axle is only half of the benefit.
I had lots of fun at the CAT scales near me one evening adjusting the WDH a few different way. After seeing the 400 lbs that it moved to my front axle (and that's a small 5000lb trailer), I think I'd prefer to use it regardless of squat.

You are right for sure. I have set mine a few different ways just to get some WT on the front axle so it handles better.

I hear you and I can still go WDH, but I felt no less front end steering.
I may still go back to WDH, I only have 500# tongue weight on a 3400-4100 lb trailer. I used to pull it with a Honda Pilot.
