got around to getting the passenger side head off today guess i didn't drain nearly as much water out of the engine as i though cause there was a lot water that came out when i pulled it. Odd thing is the none of the cylinders hardly any wear ridge on them that i could feel (could just be me most of the feeling in my fingertips is dead) and i could see cross hatches from the hone job in the first cylinder no prob and could still kind of see them in the other 2. Turned it over by head till i heard a light clunkthen rocked it back and forth and heard it both ways so it looks like its down in the rods where my knock was after all but i couldn't find the cylinder. Tomorrow i will try to get the drivers side head off.
will have to check tomorrow but there is a slight chance Tasha's dad may let us borrow one of his cars to run down there on wensday but no gurantee i'm not exactly one of his most favorite people but i will check into it.
The idle air control is a huge vacuum leak. Make sure you're not sucking air around the gasket. Your new IAC could be stuck open as well. The 2.3L is kind of a pain with these. I had one that no matter what we did to it, it ran bad. We finally cut a gasket to go under the IAC without holes in it. Effectively disabling the part. Then we left the IAC plugged in so it wouldn't throw a code and the computer thought all was well. To this this day it runs like a new one with no problems. You can use a cereal box to make the gasket, just a thin coat of silicone on both sides to seal it. Give it a shot. Let us know how you made out. You may have to bump the idle up about 100 rpms if it's shaky at idle. I think that's what we did.
G morning all. A rainy start to a rainy day here, I'd much rather rain than snow. Worked too late last night in the shop and overslept this morning...oops, good thing i didn't have time for lunch yesterday, I had leftover chili with Doritos for breffus here at work. Well gonna attempt to do the bad w-word today. I'll participate in whatever random jackassery happens to come up.
rain is better than snow..but this cold wet weather sure make its hard to get motivated in the mornings..makes me wanna just call it a wasted day and watch tv next to the heater....but nothing gets done unless i go do it..
