Seriously...I am dying to find out...like a thriller movie waiting on a commercial to finish the movie!!!!! need pictures too!!!!
He's getting there. This engine really needed a lot of work. Things that had nothing to do with the front cover failure. He's doing a fantastic job and I'm not rushing him.
Yes CJ he has his hands full for sure . Still not on the road but he's very very close .
might as well rebuild the turbo while its out! the kits only 100$ then you wont have to take it back apart like i am becuase your turbo seals / bushings went out because of the epbv leaking (im pretty sure thats what happened, starved the turbo some and wrecked the seals / bushings)

It's been soooo many things. Marty will explain all the particulars in a later post . We are taking it slow and looking at everything. We have done things to the engine for future. Things that will make it easier for him to do later like pillar gauges, chip, exhaust and sound system. I already have future appointments scheduled and the trucks not even back on the road .
We bought the new oil pan and a lot of other things that will extend the life of the truck .I have no plans on getting rid of it and I'm in too deep now so might as well do it right

Hey X you won't be disappointed once you get everything straightened out. These trucks are great if not abused & a guy does a little maintanence to keep em up.

Yeah somebody worked on this truck and I think just said " UH OH " and just put it back together and sold it . They bent the up pipe and stuff was backwards and I think Marty is still perplexed on all the holes in everything .Some were like punch holes and others holes from something bouncing around in the water pump .
haha well i believe that the excursion is one of the vehicles worth keeping. i work on mine more then any other vehicle ive ever had tho. dont care for that too much, but i figure once it gets all the previous owner things taken care of it will be good.
most people just drive things tell right before they fall apart with little to no maintance, and thats when i can afford to buy them. i dont mind so much as i get to know the vehicle quicker and more so incase it breaks later on down the line.

Man, your wife must really love you!!!!
Mine would be all the way to the shop!!!! but, what can you do? its still cheaper than 700 bucks a month for 5-7 years (at least for my budget)
mine just doesn't seem to get the big picture bless her heart
Ok Sorry for the delay . We've had our fingers crossed the last 3 or 4 days.
We put the engine back in (as you know) and put everything back together .
Filled all the fluids. Mostly distilled water and some anti freeze in the cooling system.
Ran the truck and when we pulled the stick it was watery .
We thought maybe there was a fisher crack in the block and we were a bit bummed about it. Drained and refilled the fluids and ran the engine. Still a bit watery but much better .
We looked for another block just in case and located one . I say "we" but it's ALL Marty .
I was convinced it was pockets of the old custard from the front cover failure. Well I was sure HOPING
We drained and pressure tested the cooling system and well, whatever you pressure test . ha ha . It only lost about a pound in an hour or so .
We then refilled all the fluids and ran the truck . Drained and refilled it again . Marty then had someone take it for a 100 mile run . Well when it came back it was A-OK . YAY !!! The coolant level had not moved .
So now we drained all the fluids ,refilled the oil, filters and flushed the cooling system . Refilled and it should be ready for me to pick it up tomorrow.
I'm beyond excited to get my truck back
Good deal X, BTW check out the block he has sitting in front of his shop with the custom holes in each side...lol. I may ride over to meet you, you meeting at the shop?
