i hope you pray better than you type even god may not be able to figure out what you are trying to say lol sorry that one was left wide open i had to take it.
fees and charges for dumb chit. so the wife's paycheck didn't come in the mail today and her work says if it doesn't show up by tomorrow they will cancel that check and draft a new one..........at a $25 charge to her. WTF? so her employer or the post office screws up and it's our fault? anyone else ever deal with something like this? seems kind of like bull**** to me to charge her for someone else's mistake, be it the employer or post office.
*we aren't big fans of any of our local banks, and her only payroll options are direct deposit (no, never again) or receive a live check in the mail, also a bull**** policy, used to be able to pick it up at work in the office.
I dont have the option of anything except direct deposit.
At the building supply I cashed my employees checks for them on the spot. 99 times out of 100 I had their cash in an envelope paper clipped to their check/paystub. They signed their check, handed it back to me and kept the rest.
My money comes at 12:01am on Thursday night (well officially Friday morning) and Ive never once had an issue.
I guess its one of those things that doesnt bother you until it burns your ***. A good thing about my bank and having a smartphone is the email alert when my paycheck is deposited.
we've had accounts at 4 or 5 local banks around here and they all gave us trouble with timing on withdraws and deposits, cost me a few hundred dollars in over draft fees for money that was in the accounts the local town bank almost ruined my daughters first birthday party with their daily withdraw limit b/s. i snapped on them, and closed my account the next day when the told me i was only allowed to take out $200 a day, eff that, my money, i'll take out as much as i want when i want. i haven't had a bank account since then. her work was pushing hard to go dd only, but call me old fashioned, i like to see and feel my money. and for all the folks with the "dd is the way, rain or shine my money is there" attitude, i laugh at that because the local bank had 2 system crashes while i had my account there. they only lasted a day each, but during that time their debit cards were useless. i'll stick to green backs for the time being........until the market crashes and we're all doomed.
i still think the fee is b/s. i recall 2 different times when i still worked there that they shorted my hours on my check and my supervisor caught it. he cancelled those checks and had the office draft me new ones on the spot. they fed her some line about wait till tomorrow, if it doesn't show we'll cancel, and draft at your expense and maybe get you a new check monday or tuesday. pretty lame since it isn't her fault. we'll be fine on money, but it's the whole idea of paying for someone else's mistake that's pissing me off.
Dan, you can have the bank set ur daily limit to any amount you want. I had to jump the daily on mine when I bought my 44s. But droped it back to there recomended limit after. And that's still like 1500$

negative dave. i asked, they said it was a set amount, and i told them to get screwed gimme my cash and then i closed the account. wenona state bank is by far the chittiest bank i've ever used. an illinois guy on pirate just suggested a bank to me that has 2 local branches with in driving distance. gonna check into it.
I get direct deposit from our company starting the beginning of this summer. I kind of miss having tax free income every friday... but, I needed to start paying into SS and all and I'll get a pretty sweet tax return this year when the time comes, as opposed to the normal 50 or so I got back from my other job (the big income was in tips, also tax free)
(as long as the tax man doesn't see this post... )
