A little bit of front toe in will typically make the steering a little heavier, so I don't think thats your problem unfortunately

When my modulator is plumbed into my intake on my transmission. The transmission (naturally) doesn't shift right as in you have to shift manually for it to shift on time, this is obvious. However when I plug my modulator in, (run the vacuum line to it) it shifts on time, but during the two-three shift it doesn't shift that crisply, it sorta revs up a little between the shift. It does not do this with the modulator unplugged, any ideas?

well that sucks. nothing like having a muddy truck to wrench on. at least you got some fun out of it first to see that all the work you did was worth something. old parts wear out, **** happens. i love that truck.

Got my transmission back this weekend.

The torque converter was the main thing that failed. It came apart and filled the tranny with a lot of bad things, which led of course to the front pump failing and the transmission massively overheating.

I had it rebuilt with better clutches and a much better shift kit. I also upgraded the tranny cooler to a ac condenser that originally fit the truck. I don't think over heating should be a problem anymore.

I had a low stall torque converter (1200 or so) built and the guy from bte called me today and told me it was ready to go, so maybe round two on the transmission will be a success this time.

I also twin sticked the np205 while I had it out. I may upload another pic or two later.

Hey friends, I cannot seem to keep these dern C6s cool. I installed a ac condenser as a the transmission cooler, and it helped, put the the transmission is putting off so much heat when Im in the mud, it makes my 460 overheat, this is inspite of the fact that I have a huge radiator a fan shroud and a straight non clutched fan.

What more can I do to stop this overheating problem?

What do y'all do.

I have modest intentions with the truck, I just want to be able to call on it as hard as I want to as long as I want to, with out worrying about my poor little transmissions temp.

I don't want to go manual.

Im using one of these
JEGS Performance Products 60346 JEGS HP Transmission Coolers

I would also look in to a deep +2qt pan built out of either aluminum or cast aluminum. I like the Stefs pan because of the location of the drain plugs in relationship to the trans crossmember.
Stef's 4007 Stef's Fabricated Aluminum Transmission Pans

There should be no reason a relitively stock tranny would run overly hot under normal use with a 1200 stall converter.

The pan is a good idea I haven't thought about, but I really don't see how that tranny cooler could cool any better than an AC condenser, those things are huge.

well for one it isnt meant for cooling tranny fluid and for two this one has an electric fan.

the more volume of fluid you can get the better for cooling. Im pretty sure +2qts is the most you can get for a C6

I happen to have a few electric fans laying around, so I think I'll try just setting up one or two in front of the tranny cooler.

i wanted hawgs but couldn't find any 40's or 44's with any tread left around here

i gotta go with kris on this, there is no reason a c-6 should be having any overheating issues with what you have. just an idea, but how big of lines are you running? maybe go bigger pan with a bigger cooler and use the largest lines you can. and as another idea, how much mud and bugs and **** are clogging up the cooler and radiator? are you still running it through the radiator as well as the additional cooler? just throwing ideas out there.....
