What exactly are you asking?

1410 yokes are used all the time on NP205s. Are you wanting a 1410 CV?

I am referring to the front output on the np205. By simply eyeballing the space between the transmission and the output. it looks like a 1410 yoke and u joint might be a tight fit.

Just about got it done.

The front is finished the rear still needs to be welded down. But I'm going to install my driveshaft before weld it down to be sure I get the right angle.

Ok, I have a majorly dumb question. Let me start by saying, my transmission pan got hit by a rouge front driveshaft last year about this time when i was still driving in its half ton days, and it leaked a little but I soon got to work on the one tons so I pushed back fixing it til 2 weeks ago. Though the transmission leaked all available fluid out of the leak in the floor of the shop and I just put oil dri on it as necessary. Then I moved the truck (by pulling it) but I cranked it up to utilize the power steering. It then sat in my shop for 4 months steadily leaking more transmission fluid. (Its fixed now). I cranked my truck tonight for the first time in a long time And put it into gear, and there are no funny sounds at all, the tranfer case is in high range and my gear linkage is working as it should. The transmission just want go into gear.

After I reinstalled the pan I put about 5-1/2 to 6 quarts of fluid in it. So do ya'll think it needs a little more fluid or could it be something more serious?

Thanks

I'd say low on fluid. They won't go into gear if they don't have enough.

(read the dipstick DAN )

I didn't fix the pan, but I replaced it with one of the other pans I have laying around. I lost the dipstick one day, and have gone to junk yards to get one, and nobody seems to want to sell just a dipstick...

Got the truck where I can drive it around now.

After driving I have to issues with its handling. The power steering seems to be working too good, I figured with bigger tires and bigger axles the steering would be tougher to turn. However its quite the opposite which leads to a lack of road feel. Its also got some bump steer. These problems may be inherent with the modifications, but I think it could be better. Here is what I suspect.
A. The tires were over inflated making it feel a little squirrely and easy to turn.

B. I toed in the tires about a 1/4 of an inch. This may or may not be enough based on the size of the tires.

C. No steering stabilizer. (But it didn't have one before so I dunno about this one (I am definately going to make the upgrade to hydro steering one day but not anytime soon.

*** I can tell you its not the angle of the ball joints, I made dead sure to get those to the proper angle and am very aware of what the wrong angles would do to the handling. It is not this.

So let me know what ya'll think.

Second problem.

I put one ton disc brakes all the way around, they are bled and everything but it takes alot of pedal travel to get them to stop. I still have the stock master cylinder on it and the stock proportioning valve so I think it may have something to do with the volume of brake fluid thats being bushed versus the volume required by the huge calipers. But if ya'll have any other ideas or agree with me, please let me know.

A> i forking love this truck

B>steering stabilizers mask the actual problem with a fake solution. they absorb vibrations from **** that is usually an easy fix, but the problem gets ignored or covered up by the stabilizer.
C> check into a 79 f350 4x4 master cylinder or maybe bigger. the larger amount of flow to make the bigger brake components work is taxing the **** out of the 1/2 ton m/c. it will work, but it just doesn't move enough fluid to be adequit.

p.s. i want it.

I Appreciate the compliments.

Yea I have never been particularly fond of stabilizers myself. I haven't never needed one before on the truck. I'm just hoping it may be a simple solution like wheel alignment or over-inflation. But I guess all I can do is try it out and see how it works.
