I will let him know that. He does have a bit of a lead foot...

Do you mind if I ask how much the tuner was?

I have a lead foot too, I'm brutal at lights, on ramps, passing on the highway. I can smoke the tires on a 7800# truck, when I put the go pedal down, I have spin the serpentine belt to where the alternator light comes on momentarily.

My mechanic has a built Lightning motor and he is surprised at the power difference the tuner made.

Plus I can save performance and operating data and download it to my computer for baseline info or diagnostic data.

Good evening everyone! How is everyone doing tonight? I am doing good, just got in from work and had some supper. Pretty good link Steve I might sign up for that.

Kind of interesting learning a little about V10's tonight.

So Steve is your tuner a switch on the fly kinda deal?

Evening Lee, what does the different Y pipe do for you? Is your tuner a switch on the fly?

Evening Everyone.

Well Troy, I bought it because it was a package with the tuner. Then I had it installed by the local custom muffler shop, and went under the truck and looked. The new Y pipe goes from two 2.5" pipes into a 3" pipe. The old pretzel Y pipe went from a 2.5" pipe down to a 1.75" pipe then back to a 3" pipe. I did not realize it was that bad until I was under the truck on the hoist.

My tuner is not a switch on the fly, I need to shut off vehicle and program.

No, the upload is a non running upload to the ECM vis the ODBII port, but it will run the live read outs.

I have the stock Y pipe, with dual cat backs, which I'm planning on replacing this year with cat to dual straight out under the rear bumper instead of behind the rear wheels.

So can you run duals on a V10 or do you have to run the Y pipe? Wonder how it would sound with duals?

Steve, I would really recommend changing that stock Y pipe. If you saw them side by side you would know what I mean. Talk to Mike at 5 star he will sell one seperate.

That Y pipe is very restrictive.

It would be the y to single straight to the cat then single to the muffler then duals out the muffler.

I was planning on it, I already had all the manifold studs replaced.

I do not know. I had a Dodge V10 before, and that had duals on when I got it, sounded like a rice burner, I hate that sound.

I hope that Tom is checking in and seeing there is action here. Heck, the 11 of march and we are already over Feb by 15 posts.
