I will start with some pics of the steering changes.
The pics are of the box, tie rods, and idler arm.
Okay, so next I was looking at the rear brakes and rear end. So I put a new locker in, sorry no pics. Camera was broken. But I also deceided to upgrade the rear brakes. I bought a 95 Mustang rear end for $75.00 and swapped the parts. I had to modify the backing plate mounts to fit for space reasons. I simply cut the bottoms off so I could slide them over the back side of the axle mount plate. I also made a plate to put on them for strength reasons. Here are some pics. This is a very easy mod for rear disc brakes. I also had to repair my housing and fix it correctly. The previous owner lowered the truck. When the flipped the axle they didn't relocate the pin mount, the let the axle rest on the alignment pin on the springs. So I welded the hole I found shut, and cut off the mount and relocated the bracket so it was on the spring! Also didn't want the axle moving. I also reset the pinion angle slightly.
Here you can see the Mustang mount plate, and my add-on
Here is another angle.
This shows the spring mount moved, and the mount welded on for the brake hose.
Before I started.
A picture of the caliper mounted, and the bracket for the caliper shortened slightly.
Those old useless drum brakes.
Here's a pic of my new tires! Still have to buy wheels.
I still have a lot of work to do really. I want to put a 91+ dash in it, and I need to shorten the rear end to get my rear tires on. Plus I want to replace the Nissan steering gear with a newer Ford Ranger R&P...
Wow David very impressive! How many miles have you put on it since the swap? Did you have trouble with the driveline angles? That is what I am trying to get set on my streetrod to try and avoid any vibration issues.

Thanks!!!
I've put maybe 5-600 miles on it. Have to be choosy on when I drive it...
The driveline angles were pretty easy, retained the stock locations so all I did was match the original angle to the new when I flipped the rear end.
I have a top, but I have to make it something I can take on and off and not damage anything. It's an actual top I had cut off a truck, so I'm not sure how I want that to all work out.
When I was in tech school for auto body we cut the roof of a guys s10. I think we had a kit type thing and when it was all done it was pretty slick. You could take it off and on pretty easily.
Yeah, this had a soft top conversion kit on it when I got it. But it was chintzy. So I welded everything up and made it solid. That way if I didn't get a top made up, it was still good as it was.
