Good morning Jay, Troy, and anyone else who pops in. Had to read through a couple of pages again. Tried to make lope tune this weekend but didn't quite get what I was looking for, ended up just making some tweaks to the 65hp tune and put that in. Didn't need two hi idles. I'll figure out that lope tune sometime later and it'll sound like my cammed Mustang, although somewhat impractical lol.
Yeah, I got everything from Bill, Minotaur tuning package, chip, burner, pc software. Right now I've got files and PHP chips for my family's PSDs(4 betweeen 3 of us). I've primarily been just been using Bill's tunes, this weekend was the first I did anything besides just write high idle/no start/whisper tunes. Sold my first chip to someone else the Saturday two weekends ago for a 97 PSD auto. Have about $1200 invested in just the software and different files I have. Likely will be selling another next week, and then its time to buy another batch of blank chips.
Hey Jay, not sure if I asked this question before, maybe on a different thread a while ago, (can't remember). How do you like the slotted rotors and hawk pads?
I have heard good and bad about drilled and slotted rotors being used in the cold weather & snow (cracking). I need to replace the rotors on my F350 (warped) and I am going to upgrade the pads to non metalic. Or if anyone else has an opinion.

Hey Lee, how was your weekend? I also have the slotted rotors and hawk pads. The front rotors are slotted and the rears are napa ones they all have hawk pads on them. Honestly when they were new last summer the braking was much better than factory. But would have to say now I dont notice a huge differance or I am just used to them. I think I would almost have to drive a truck with stock rotors and pads to see the difference. I havent had any trouble with cracking or anything. They have been excellant that way. Hope this helps a little. I am sure Jay will jump in and give you his opinion too.
Missed the first part Troy. Weekend was good. Lots of snow down by Worthington, and icy on Sat morning, you would have been busy, over 20 cars in ditch on way down. I did win $40 at poker on Sat night, so I guess it was a good weekend. How was yours? looks like you were busy.
Yeah Thomas that is pretty cool that you do your own tuning! Where did you learn that? I see you have a PHP chip did you get all that stuff from Bill?
Hey Jay how is your day goin?
My day is going fine. Typical Monday I guess.

My experience is dead on to what Troy said. I have the slotted rotors front only and something auto parts store on the back- Carquest maybe? and Hawk pads all the way around also. I thought the were fantastic when new but again like Troy I would say they are average now. Not bad but they seem pretty normal now. Only slotted not drilled. That is a no-no on trucks this heavy. No warping issues or anything like that. Tom (mndiesel) can tell you an overheating story with his powerslots that is pretty amazing. I don't remember the details but his rotors survived nicely where others would not have.
Yeah Sat morn was busy with a couple cars in the ditch and a bad 3 car wreck on the edge of town that sent 7 to the hospital but no major injuries luckily! Other than all that it was a good weekend. At least you made some money on poker night.
I have seen what heat can do to brakes. I saw a motor home in flames on 14 in Wyoming, only 6% grade, but tried coming down while towing a car. The rotors on my F350 were slightly warped when I bought the truck, so I went cheap and had them turned. One trip to Yellowstone and I wsh I would have put new ones on.
Good evening everyone! Hope everybody's monday went well.

Thomas, sounds like you are starting to get these chips figured out. I might have to talk to you about a chip for my '94. I would love to have high idle on it for running the hydraulics on it.
