I guess I now know NOT to install Hybrids & G38 into a PMR motor. Went for a burn today, and well... The title covers it off pretty good.
So, does ANYONE know of somewhere in British Columbia that I might track down a Forged 7.3 Motor?
I think my block MIGHT be ok, but won't know until I tear it out. Which brings me to my next question. What is the easiest sequence to go through to get the motor out? Would it be worth me just dropping the pan off and looking inside first? Anyone have any suggestions?

Oh man that sucks.
I seriously doubt your block is any good. I guarantee you either have a hole in the side of it or you have some main webbing that is cracked. In either case, your cam is probably junk as well as the crankshaft.
You can't "just dropping the pan". The engine has to come out to do that anyway.
How long have you been running that set-up, and how old are your tunes?
And sorry to hear of your carnage.
This is a good question how long have you had these tunes? Did Jody tune you after you injector and turbo upgrade. Did your truck run real good or just okay? Do you have any dyno numbers? Still hate to hear this happening with any ones tunes. But as said by alot of people PMR suck.
Well, I put the injectors/turbo/tunes from Jody in @ the beginning of October... He just gave me some updated tunes the day before yesterday, and it seemed to run a little better and make more power...
You can't pull the pan without pulling the motor? Crappy... I thought there might be enough clearance under there.
Can someone please tell me breifly what the EASIEST way to get the motor out of the truck is? IE. Would pulling the fenders off help any? Do i need to reclaim the refrigerant and remove the A/C coil? Etc...
Any suggestions as to the order to approach this thing would greatly be appreciated.
I just noticed that the Solinoid is hanging off the starter, so something is wrong on that side of the motor too.
Suggestions on what I need to put in this thing to take this power, so that I can RELY on it after this rebuild? Would Forged rods, peaned and Frozen take it? Or do I need to find a set of aftermarkets?
I guess the up-side of this is that I can put in my replacement clutch now...
Wow sorry to hear that I was hopeing when I opened the thread you were going to say you blew off a boot not the whole motor. Like Jim said makes me sick to my stomach!!
Sorry to hear about your engine, been there done that. Sad thing is that it could have been avoided.. What size nozzles do you have in the injectors?
I knew the options available to me when I put it together... Took a chance... Hopefully someone else will learn from my mistake. No biggy... This just gives me the oportunity to rebuild so that it WILL take the abuse now...
Damn that sucks. You ought to get ahold of Gordon. He has a block for sale and has some forged rods.
The motor isn't too hard to pull. Just got to start from the front of the truck and work towards the motor. Make sure you pull out the front crossmember above the Intercooler. Also don't unhook your AC, just place it to the passenger side of the motor. Takes about 7-8 hours and you will have it out...
Leave your tranny in your truck too.... you don't need to pull it...
