If you have rod holes in the pan, do yourself a favor and take that block to the metal recycling center. Don't waste the money on that block. It's finished.
I only have 200cc hybrids and I am very careful with it on my PMRs. Almost 2 years now. Of course today, once fully warmed up I did blow a bit of smoke. OK, maybe more than a bit. Kept folks behind me on a 3 lane road way behind me because they could not see, and they probably didn't want any of the truck either.
For those wondering, I was simply making a few lane changes and may have had the tune set a bit high for what I needed to do. No speeding of course.
Uh-huh... I was born at night, not LAST night.
Along those lines, my wife & I were going to meet at one of our favorite little Mexican places last night. I knew she was close, but didn't know she was 3 or 4 car lengths behind me. She got a couple good doses.

I agree if you have holes in the pan the block is probably junk.
But WOW Mike hybrids, PMR's, 400hp and 2 years the way you drive you must be a lucky one or just good tooning.
Those who can be more specific will be along shortly.

IIRC, It was in October 2000 when they went to PMRs. My engine has a build date of Oct 13, 2000. It has forged rods. I have confirmed this through the visual inspection. It wasn't until an few days later that they switched. I got lucky.
I got great news! (I think). Found a company in Vancouver British Columbia that rebuilds 7.3L Powerstrokes. I can get a Forged Rod Long block (without injectors or HPOP) for $2300 Canadian. I can't even assemble one myself for that price. It comes with a 1year warranty too.
Is this too good to be true?
