Damn that sucks. You ought to get ahold of Gordon. He has a block for sale and haTakes about 7-8 hours and you will have it out...s some forged rods.
The motor isn't too hard to pull. Just got to start from the front of the truck and work towards the motor. Make sure you pull out the front crossmember above the Intercooler. Also don't unhook your AC, just place it to the passenger side of the motor.
Leave your tranny in your truck too.... you don't need to pull it...
I put a towel over passangerside fender, and hang it there with a bunggggiiiii cord connected to it and the hood.
Thats not good to hear, me and myers pulled our last one out in 3.5
He is right, leave he trans in. Stock forged rods will hold over 300/400 injectors with a lot of NOS with the right tooning...
Wow man, sorry to hear about that. That blows big time...
While on the subject, if you have PMR's are you screwed? Meaning, is it possible to replace with forged rods or an aftermarket option, or do you have to rebuild your motor like several of you have had to do now?
Fordzilla, sorry for your loss. I know that my upgrades are pretty mild compared to a lot of you, & I do not hammer my truck, but honestly I usually stay on the stock tune because I'm afarid of what could happen. Kind of takes the fun out of it.
The break point seems to be in the 400s somewhere, Mark. If you don't have bigger injectors, you're about as safe as you can be, short of running the EGTs to the peg for minutes at a time.
