So far I have only found Crower & Hypertech rods, both over 2600 a set...

One that you let fully warm up (like 170 degree oil temps) before you hammer it.

If someone doesn't let their rig at least mostly warm up before hammering it then they need to get out of their truck and apologize to it!

I wait for my rig to tell me that it's alive again. Usually takes about 20 minuts to a half hour of driving before I feel it smooth back out and wake up completely, then again it's winter, it takes a while. I also don't have temp guages, though I'd love to.

Yes -- Engine oil temp & coolant temps are very close most of the time. I *was* going to put a coolant temp sensor on my ScanGauge, but after seeing EOT, don't see a need. I do want to put an oil pressure gauge in, though. Maybe I'll do oil & fuel pressure on it. hhmmm........

That's exactly what I'm thinking of doing! It sure would make some of our troubleshooting easier and let us know what's going on inside our beasts.

It is very handy to have a EOT, ICP and fuel pressure gauge in the cab....

I have an external mechanical fuel pressure gauge, but it would be cool to have it all rolled in to the ScanGauge. I'll think about it some more.

Yea, if you find something that you can roll all into one then let me know. I'm thinking of getting one of the smart digital scan guages (when money permits) that chimes when something goes out of a preset range.
Now that would be cool.

Couldn't seem to make it not do this, didn't matter what tune, or what the temp was outside.
As our weather cooled off outside, on really cold mornings it seemed to be a little bit harder to start than usual.
With the white smoke and rough running for the first minute no matter what the weather is, could it possibly be an injector issue that led to the boom?
Who made your injectors?

I really don't know... But I am now on the fence as to what rods to put in the new motor. I really am scared to have to go through this again. I am looking for a GOOD price on some GOOD rods, so that no matter what I do down the road, I don't end up doing this again.... Suggestions?
