I mounted the turbo behing the cab of the truck inside my toolbox. the intake charge tube runs under the cab of the truck. i havent found an intercooler yet but im looking. ive been thinking about using a AC core as a water to air intercooler, but we'll see. waiting on drive shafts headers, fuel rails. when its finished ill post a build on it.
Awesome thread 4wheeling; I somehow missed this thread, def. glad to have seen it, fantastic info you have put up. It's 2 hrs to the nearest dyno for me, so I'm having to do it old school for now. I have been to that dyno with my modded GT500, putting down 610 rwhp, and do want to bring my truck there eventuallyto see what it's doing.
I will be installing a wideband O2 sensor to see what my AFR is at, I'm sure it's lean. Project MPG is what got me going on this as well, but I am not sure about converting this one to MAF yet or just finding a Cali truck.
My handheld stopwatch times maybe a bit crude lol, but it's done at a spot where we have a measured 1/4 mile marked off, so it's pretty consistent at least.
On my truck, 42 lbs def. seemed to be the sweet spot, higher pressure didn't help, but I think it's because the injectors are maxed out similar to what yours was when it was still SD, hence why I will be doing the O2 sensor.
littlejohniii, glad to see you aren't mad about what i said i was not trying to knock on your thread at all. You defenitly need a wide band once you get one you will wonder how you lived with out it. Converting to maf is relativly easy on these trucks and before this thread is over i hope to have figured out how to build you own maf air kit. Either way i will post ever thing i know on the subject as i think it can be done way under $1500.

I will try and get to the dyno tomorrow (i hope?)
I'll definitely be interested in what your dyno results come out at. I'd like to see what you come up with on the MAF swap too. It looks like it will be a while for me, as I have to have one that will run the E4OD trans, which seems to require the Baumann kit. That's a big portion of the $$.
I am curious though if an ECM from say a F150 or Lightning would run the E4OD though? Anyone know?
4wheeling great thread
I am planing on building something close to this. Your fuel injection info is a great resource
Is the dyno any closer to being fixed?

are those rockwells i spot under your truck or is that just my brain playing with that little image
I have no idea about the horsepower of my 460,but it has a few mods done to it. Thanks to this thread and information within, I decided to purchase the same underdrive pulleys from Troyer. I also had to replace my clutch and ungraded to a slightly larger 12.25 clutch(stock is 12). While replacing the clutch I had to remove part of the exhaust. When I reinstalled it, I left the tailpipes off and just used a couple turn downs behind the mufflers.
My test came last night at the Countyline Saloon in Melbourne Florida. Once a month they hold a mudbog on saturday night. I drove my truck 60 miles north to Melbourne. I entered the 44 inch street class. I was the 3rd truck in my class to run. I put the truck in low range, and put my ZF in third gear. I launched of the line, pedal to the floor and never lifted. The pit is 100 feet long. My time was 8.85 seconds, good enough for a second place finish, giving me my first trophy ever ! Then I got back in and drove it 60 miles back home. I believe that the underdrive pulleys and better breathing exhaust helped me with this. The only other thing different I did was ad Lucas Octane Boost to my tank of gas.I beleive without these things done, I would have had to down shift to second, or even start in 2nd. Now I am fired up and can't wait to install my adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and buy my adjustable AFR. I am going to play with the timing as well. It is set at 12 degrees right now. I am thinking of trying 13 or 14 degrees to see what happens. Thanks for a great thread.
My truck has 4:10 gears and 44 inch tsl's.
a couple of things I learned about my truck on the ride back;
at 1400 rpm in 5th gear, I am doing 55 mph.
At 55 mph , my trucks speedo registers 19 MPH ,hehe !!!

ps-I am finally going to ad some images to my gallery if anybody wants to see the "Mass Mudderer".
