I figured extinguishers and triangles because that's typically what we used to get pinched for.
AW-Direct had a sale on triangles a while ago so we stocked up on them and we got extinguishers too.
We actually had to use one of the extinguishers a while ago. We were hauling a loader from Long Island, NY back to CT and the bearings on the rear axle passenger side failed and proceeded to light on fire. We put the fire out once and attempted to limp it off the highway and to a Walmart parking lot or something so we could drop it and go get another trailer to pick up the RGN and then pick up the loader. Then the axle lit again. So we put it out again. That was the end of that extinguisher. So then we went again. And it lit again. So we put it out with snow. So we were 200 feet from a parking lot and it lit again. We figured we'd get it there and then put it out once we were ready to leave it. Except when we were pulling into the parking lot I hear "BOOM!" Tire blew out.
That trailer still isn't right. It honestly needs the whole rear axle replaced. It got royally screwed up by that incident.
It looked like it was caused by a lack of oil in the bearings.
And safety triangles are a very good thing to have. If you look official then you won't get bothered.
My brother was out with the 6610 mowing roadsides and he caught the cutting head on the edge of a bridge. He wrecked the cylinder that swings the boom forward and back on the frame that is attached to the tractor. It got oil EVERYWHERE and it was on top of water above a bridge. So dad and I dropped a bag of speedy-dry off with my brother and then went to AutoZone to grab more. He had his triangles out when we got there. A cop drove right past us after we were back with more speedy-dry and didn't bother us at all. Dunno if he was busy or what, but that was pretty awesome because he could've really harassed us about it since it could've been considered an "Environmental Hazard"
yea right, some of the newer ones are a bit easier to change the end bushings, but the beams are still heavy as hell
I've done a bunch by myself and it will make all your babies be born naked
Done a few myself, and your right all my kids were born naked.
Ever seen one run so long that it ripped out of the housing?
Im really not sure how to tell what model of suspension I have Ray, I am very inexperienced when it comes to chalmers suspension. Any clues or hints I could check out?
Have you replaced those bushings before?
Here is some good reading.I have done a few of these

Yes I have. With the Cuban trucker here you see a bit of everything.I also had a few of the alluminum beams break, they were something that never should have been used
But think the damest thing I had happen when I was rearended it hit so hard it busted both rear bushings in the 46k lb beams
