Friday Factoid: I'm Mr Ed!
A horse is a horse!
Of course, of course.
And no-one can talk to a horse, of course!
That is, of course, unless the horse
Is the famous Mr Ed!
So begins the theme song to famed 60's sitcom Mr Ed, the talking horse.
However, here's something to blow your mind...
Mr Ed wasn't in fact a horse. He was a ZEBRA!
During production, the original horse cast as Mr Ed was so unruly, the producers almost threw in the towel. It wasn't until they found a well-trained zebra at a nearby zoo that they gave the show one last shot.
They dyed the zebra's coat, set the cameras rolling -- and it worked.
In the days of black and white television, the lack of contrast meant few would spot the difference. It was only when colour TV sets became popular that CBS was forced to scrap the series.
Sounds like an urban myth?

Yea. I have the separate cup holder and ashtray. I think the ashtray might end up as a sneaky DP switch mount some day.
I say some day because I can't afford to spend any more money right now.
I've spent more in the past 5 months than I've spent in the past 16 years!!
7 grand on a truck
1 grand on mods
500 on parts to get it to where it ought to be for functionality (swaybar bushings, oil, fuel filter, cup holder, etc.)
Fortunately I found a nice big box with somewhere between 7 and 9 FleetGuard oil filters that fit the 7.3 PowerStroke so I won't be buying oil filters for a while
I say some day because I can't afford to spend any more money right now.

I was looking for the later cup holder/ashtray.Think I remember they are interchangable and the cup holder works better

Stock my truck came with the foam ear style cup ejectors and a separate ashtray.
It has the ashtray where the later ones have the trash hook. And the new style cupholder/ashtray deal slides right in where the other ones came out.

The first picture is what my old ones were like. The second is what I ordered.
With my new one I'll have the spring loaded arm style cupholder with the ashtray in the middle like the 02s use.
It was even easier for me to justify because the front piece of the old ones was pulling off and one of the pop up things that the foam ears were attached to got broken off.
