Scott, we ran into the exact same thing with my uncle. He has land, he has thousands and thousands of dollars worth of antiques, equipment, tools and other stuff. He had a draft copy of a will (not legal) from 1990 written up that wasnt updated at all. No will that anyone has found yet (he had a very "unique" way of filing stuff papers all over the place!)
So as of right now we are trying to get my mom to be the executor(sp?). In the end it will be a long drawn out expensive deal to get all of my uncles things dealt with. Im not sure what te cost of his funeral was, but family just covered it for now.
As young as I am, just dealing with my uncle not having a will, sure makes me think I should go set one up too.
I really feel for your friends daughter. I have a crappy enough time dealing with losing a close uncle, I dont know what it would be like losing my father, at age 13.
Thanks, Sheldon. I feel really badly for her too. She's had a rough go this past couple of years with her parents being divorced, her mom being screwe dup and now her dad dying. Hopefully things will turn around for her and she will be ok.

Either way make sure the will is signed, notarized and two separate witnesses. In different states probate laws vary some but this normally makes the will selfproving and not likely contestable
Great advice right here. I have been learning all about this for last couple of days.

Don't delay, Jim. Like another coworker pointed out today....you just never know.

I am thinking that her mother will have to take custody. That's not really a good thing though as she is pretty screwed up herself. That's why she is an "ex-wife". I am worried about the daughter, very much.

Today, on Day shift, I was able to pick up $1200. I still have Swings and Graves and also some other Day shift guys that said they would throw in tomorrow. I have heard that we have to have the money together by Monday morning. Going to hustle my *** off tomorrow and thru the weekend.

Thanks, Ed. I really appreciate the offer. FTE, and the generosity of the folks in the 7.3 forum, never cease to amaze me.

I dated a few strippers, those girls are fun. A little wild but fun.
Im sorry to hear the news about your co-worker, Scott.
Jim, my uncle was married once and woke up the day after the ceremony and he swears she was a different person...it will all be over soon enough!
Hope everyone had a better day than I did. Went to Radio Shack around 1 to get some wire and some wire for Carling switches in the near future. Well my great luck I witnessed a robbery in progress. I didn't know it was a robbery but I saw the getaway car. He had caught my when I got out of the truck. I usually look around before I slip my gun on my belt just to avoid any hassle. Well the car was goin by VERY VERY slow and didnt park. I walked down to the Shack and walked in. Not 30 seconds later the manager came out and said the check cashin place was JUST robbed! Cops showed up not 2 minutes later(I passed them on the way to Shack sittin in a parking lot talking) and they asked me what the car was. I told em it was either a Town Car or a Caddy, off white/cream to a silver with a silver strip down the length of the car. So I spent the next 1.5 hrs riding around in a Denali looking at suspect cars. One I looked at was prolly it. Had a white bandana in it and it had that silver stripe down it. They had some "SWAT" look alikes show up and they were asking the state police for a hound dog to track em.
I wanted to see it go down but we drove off. I finally left at like 330. At least I got to talk to my high school friend, even though she was there on business! I would still love her to frisk me! lol
Only school system in VA that the state itself is in charge of because of its basic failure. #1 in state for STDs and teen pregnancies....#1 reason I have a concealed weapon permit....I could go on and on...
I have to go there for nearly everything I need...groceries, electronics, fast food...all that jazz.
That is right around the corner from my house, down where I get my mail. The dummy driving the car over turned and ended up in the ditch. I could hear her trying to explain it to the police officer.
