My thoughts- The human body was designed to work, and then some. Now Im not talking about diggin ditches all day and killing yourself, but working hard, damn thats just good for you!
Your so right man. You know what I have found though, most hard physical working type jops pay like crap. Mt ideal job is digging ditches all day, but I, worth way more then what people want to pay for that kind of work!
If I could get someone to pay me like 25 bucks an hour (thats about 25 percent of what I would make an hour with my backhoe) to do a hard physical job, I would take that in a sec.
Nice to see ya around and posting too man! You need to get your priorities straight

Can you take a TLB and switch from forks to a bucket in under 20 seconds? Can it run a rotary mower or a mulcher head?
When it came time for me to choose one machine, it was a backhoe. In the line of work Im doing, there is no machine that comes close to it. For the longest time I thought about a skid steer, and a mini ex, but for what Im doing, the just wouldnt work at all.
There are machines that can expand on the capabilities of a backhoe for sure, but alot of times when you go to a site with a few man crew, it costs money to bring out a dozer, or a full size.
Thats where it gets to be bad business decisions. The backhoe (specially rubber tire hoe) will always have a use out there, where a dozer, full size ex, or a skidsteer wouldnt work at all. (goes visa versa too)
Ive seen a guy around here that has a set of forks he uses with his 4 in 1 bucket it attach's as quick as you can pull up to them, its a really neat system he has designed!
SO on the agenda today, theres a big car show that we might go hit up, meet up with some fellow fte buddies. The day looks like its gonna be nice and warm, so who knows from there!
So in interest of getting my priorities straight, (Sheldon, you crack me up) I figured I would say good morning to you all!!!
Scott- I cant believe you got the money through donations, that just restored some faith in mankind for me. There are a lot of great people out there, most of them sitting right here on FTE, but Im sure there are a few more now.
I'm off to grab some coffee myself, and run to Pro-Tool to pick up some parts for rebuilding my nailgun. It's a killer little tool shop that repairs and sells top of the line stuff. So coffee first, then drool on the tools, then home to drool while fixing the tools. Then, beer with the boys later today!!!!!!
Oh, and I am pretty much always OK, even if I'm not posting Im still pm'ing and texting a few of you!!!
Its always great to point to an object and be able to say...I made that!
Even if its just a pile of firewood!
I cant tell you how much I enjoy the satisfaction that comes from building things. It's why I build homes. Really super cool to drive by someones house and see a Christmas tree in the window and think they wouldnt have had that home if not for me. Or, even better, is when you become part of their family afterwards and get to go to the parties and kinda show-off a bit. (Not to mention get more work!) I have a couple people I work for that have offered to adopt me recently...I'll tell you what, with the recent family developments, I may consider it......
On edit- It really doesnt matter if it's a pile of wood, a home, a skyscraper, or changing the oil in the truck, it just feels good to do things yourself.
I'll pistol whip the next person who says shenanigans!
i'm your huckleberry, shenanigans
