Last Dec/Jan I interview 3 times with a company in Denver... I found out they interviewed almost 30 people for this position. It got done to me & 1 other person, and we both interviewed. This was over almost a 10 week period in total... after my final interview, a week later they came back and said "We looked at our needs and actually don't need that position after all..." especially in the current economy, that's just poor management.
The money they spent on that would probably equal a half years salary.

So the head doesn't know what the assh**e is doing..or is it the other way around? Either way, it's **** poor management.
I know it doesn't make sense, but I believe we all know who is really sovereign over these circumstances, and He can change things at the drop of a hat. Hang tough.
Went to a Home Depot once...to get tile, I think. Anyhow, it was hotter than hell in there, and it was like, August or something during a heat wave. It was so hot that after about 5 minutes of pushing a cart around I walked up to one of the guys who worked there and asked him why it was so hot in there. He said "corporate controls the temperature of our building. We have no way of changing the thermostat". Corporate was in Atlanta, Georgia.
I'm not sure he was telling me the truth, but holy crap.

Not a good day at all.
Damn Jim, sorry to hear this. It really sucks that you went through the whole process and as you were getting ready for the physical they cancel on you.
We now have H1N1 in our home, my wife and daughter are sick now and I'm sure the rest of us will be sick before too long.
This is a machine like we'll be looking for. CAT 287B MTL. Ooooh shiny. Should be great in the snow and mud. It'll be a nice addition to the 236B wheeled unit we already have.

Walmart used to be like that a few years ago as well. It was winter and it was freezing in the store with snow on the ground here. They didnt turn the heat on and there was a sign on the door saying "Local management does not control the temperature in this building, please call our home offices in Bentonville, AR at this number"
Very surprised they even gave out the number. They were probably freezing too! haha
Very frustrating news, indeed.
Sorry to hear that.

Gee, I can hardly wait
I hope that you all get better soon. I would be sleeping in the barn.

the plant manager said we need another mechanic, and preferably one with electrical experience. hire someone.
then 2 weeks later after all is said and done, the front office pencil pushing bean counters that have no knowledge of the managers hiring process decide they need to save money by firing a mechanic and enforcing a hiring freeze.
That is exactly what had happened Tom. They had an electrician and he had just quit to go work some where else for more money. The plant manager said replace him and the bean counters, who are located in the main office in Texas, said no.
Thank You all for your support and kindness. I have to keep looking up though. I have my health and I have JL and to top all of it off I have all of you as friends. Life is pretty good.
