Scott I gotta hand it to ya man, you took that well. I would have started swinging and asked questions later.
Also in this day and age how does a person get a job while not being able to speak english? Ive noticed that lately, and up here in canada too. (in our case french works too)
Just walked into my office here at work just in time to catch a no habla janitor slipping my brand new cell phone into his pocket.
Took all I had not to beat his ***. Instead, he will be fired and put out onto the highway this morning, I will see to it.

I agree...but they both wouldve been walking out to their vehicles together with no jobs possibly! His english wouldve probably been great if Scott wouldve hit him or hurt him! I prolly would be one without a job right now though...
Glad to hear your company works fast and efficient with these situations. I bet they are happy to get a few bad apples off payroll in this economy!
Sheldon....
A lot of non-english speaking people are taking jobs away from me actually. I dont see how. You have to interact with some of the clients. Insurance claims for example...you have to talk to the contactor and find out how far along they are, whats left, blah blah. Lord forbid if you get into a confrontation with someone getting foreclosed on. They will be 10x more ticked off at someone that cant speak english IMO. Whatever. I have enough to work my 3 days a week. Today is last day in the week Im working. Ive got a list of 23 to do by end of the week and I start alllllll over. 23 is enough for me a day!
The one and only time I was laid off was because my boss said he could have 2 for the price of me....That wasnt cool. I made my peace with it though. Started my own business and buried his azz!! hahahaha! paybacks are double!

I know some Spanish (Susan's parents are from Spain and she speaks fluent Spanish) and I have several guys that are bilingual. I have them translate. Most of the guys that do not speak English are good workers and they can pump out some parts. It's just difficult to communicate with them.
We have the same problem here in little Mexico (Arizona), a lot who pretend they can't speak english here, but when they need something the english starts flying out of their mouths........ Glad you caught him, got your phone back and bounced his *** right out the door.
I'm not fluent, but am pretty good. Kinda funny to stand there and pick up on the conversation when they start to chat about your girl or a friend. "Callate P**A!" and then you smile at them. They get real quiet 'cuz they know they're busted. Life's little pleasures...
I dunno, whoever says the oilfield is slowing down isn't looking in the right places. This place has been a madhouse all day. Orders for new drilling equipment pouring in and they want everything right now. It's only lunch and I have already fielded 60 or so e-mails. All asking for expedited service or estimated completion dates on equipment. These guys are making money faster than they can count it today.

We have 7 of our 9 rigs parked right now, in the winter thats unheard of out here! Im one of those guys that knows some parts of the oil field is slowed right down!
