Thanks! I love it! Already plowed the snow in my driveway, and my parents driveway. My buddy has the doors for it buried somewhere in the snow at his house, we'll dig those out inbetween storms lol
I'm still waitin to replace that truck. I've got dad sold on an F450 mason dump with an 8 or 9 foot blade and 7.3 powerstroke. It's just not going to happen this winter though. First he's got to pay me back the $ he owes me so I can pay off my truck and get it home. Then he can go buy trucks for next winter.
Finally we got the heat hooked up in our shop. We put in a double barrel wood stove. It throws some pretty good heat when you really have it going good.

Throw a fan behind that wood stove, and you will be amazed at home comfortable your shop gets! I know I was amazed at home much a tiny little fan helped out in my last garage!
Laminate is way less than real hardwood, so I would go that route myself. There are some great laminates these days and you can fake a lot of people out. I have laminate mahogany in my front sitting room and a lot of people cant tell the difference. Most of them are a no glue system as well as having the backer already attached so the ease of installation is quite the bonus. You can do an entire room in a matter of hours now.
Exactly what I wanted to hear! Imma print this out and give it to him! I told him its like a friggin puzzle and u snap it together basically. He looked at me like Ive grown horns.
Are there any objections or concerns to putting it down over linoleum or vinyl flooring? Would I need tar paper/rosen paper down if doing it that way? Hes got some squeaky subflooring and I was going to drive screws into the joists below before we did anything.

Cost being a factor, UNLESS he is gonna stay in his first house for many years (which some people do) I would go laminate. It is easy as pie to install. My woman has actually done this place, and our first house in mainly laminate, and she insisted on doing it herself, she loves doing it, and does a great job.
The place before this one, we layed ceramic tile, and carpet, but she wanted to do laminate!
He thinks cost isnt a major factor at this point. Hes gonna have a heck of a wakeup call soon. I told him to not pump so much money into his starter house. It needs to look good and function well but he has the idea that he wants everything to be top of the line. Being a real estate and land development major....he will price himself out of the neighborhood. Heck, I think with a new coat of paint, new carpets, and new laminate flooring he already will be doing that!

How far away are you right now from Lake Kissimmee? I try to go down there fishing once a year. I also go to Key West once a year (if Im lucky) but I hate that drive. I think we stay on Big Pine Key or something like that.

Great minds think alike. As soon as I can find a big box fan it's getting mounted to the wall behind the stove.
We already have some sort of thing that you stick in the duct work that has several tubes in it that get heated by the air going through the ducting. A fan inside the unit blows air through the tubes and the air that comes out is pretty warm. Last winter we had no heat at all in that shop and it was COLD. And fortunately for us we'll never run out of wood either. My brother does firewood sales so we can burn his rejects AND our business has a client that owns a ton of greenhouses. He is converting to wood heating instead of oil heating since oil cost him 500,000$ last year.
We're hauling waste wood away from the pallet shop by the trailer load. We're talking quantities of 100 yards daily.
I'm not to sure. Maybe some time in January. I'm trying to take care of a few things here and then head back up for a couple of weeks.
Well if you need any help just let me know
