okay computer guru's......question for ya on wireless! My computer is set to recieve 802.11g. The wireless here at the hotel is 802.11bg, and it barely connects to that. There is another signal available that is 802.11b.(full strength) Is there a way to adjust my computer to work with that? At home my router speaks the "g" language so I want to be able to change it back when home.....dunno if that is adjustable or not? Thanks
I think if you right click the icon and go to view wireless networks then click on the one you want it should connect
I guess I should have been more specific lol.....I am pretty computer savvy The hotel I always stay at here in Cali when working, the wireless signal is VERY WEAK for 802.11bg. Depending on which room I am in, i sometimes can't even connect. There is a FULL strength signal available that is 802.11b, I know all about clicking on which one to connect to, the problem is my computer won't connect to that. I want to know if I can change my wireless cards settings. It won't do it automatically
Good morning everyone!! I love the stuck stories, always good to know your not alone in your stupidity!! Mark, If there were any pics or videos of my incident I would show you, but I was running around like a little girl trying to get my truk unstuck...oh well. Travis, they had your area on the news last night for all your snow! I was like "hey I know I guy that lives there!!" Julie was like, "how would you know anybody in AZ?" I just smiled...."you wouldnt understand honey...its a powerstroke thing"

It's not a secured signal you're locking onto is it? That's the only problem I've ever run into. Course since I went with Sprint I have to problem no more at all.............LOL...

I got a stuck story I shall share later. It even involves pulling the only tree within winch cable reach around right out of the ground, roots and all.

Thanks Ray! I am sitting here barely with a signal......I think I'd be okay if I was about 3 doors down, last trip I stayed just down the way from this room. This is always a problem though! I am thinking I need to somehow find out which EXACT wireless card I have on this laptop to see if it's compatible to speak with both G and B wireless signals! I have mine set to automatic for my network at home, I just turn on the computer and it goes to ours right away. Just having probs when I'm on the road

No..it's unsecured. There are two different ones for us at this hotel, and of course the one with the full strength I can never connect to. The hotel owners could care less about adding more routers too, they just keep collecting their checks from the Railroad and probably send it straight to Mr. 9/11 himself
I've got 4 dogs. I bought a large bag of Meaty Bites at Big W and was standing in line at the check-out.
A woman behind me asked if I had a dog.
On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Meaty Bites Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, and that I'd lost 25 lbs before I woke in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms.
I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Meaty Bites and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry & that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.
I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her.
Horrified, she asked if I'd ended up in the hospital in that condition
because I had been poisoned by the food. I told her no, it was because I'd been sitting in the middle of the road licking my d**k and a car hit me.
I thought one guy was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard as he staggered out the door.
