See y'all later!!

Sorry to hear about the jeep man, that sucks you just replaced the clutch in it too.
Brad, I don't think the clutch is frozen to the flywheel. The engine spins freely when the clutch pedal is depressed. If the clutch were frozen to the flywheel, I would think the engine wouldn't spin freely at all.
Mark, the reason I own it is almost exactly what you said -- it was given to me. My parents bought it after I had left for college, to have a 4x4 vehicle for around town driving in the winter time. After I graduated college, and was without a vehicle for a while they let me borrow it. When I finally bought my truck, they just let me keep the Jeep, and gifted the title over to me a couple years after that.
Lee, keeping the truck off the road in the winter time is why I'm not happy about this at all. I would prefer to keep all the salt and ice melt junk off my truck. If it were the summer time, I wouldn't be nearly as worried about it. Plus, I don't particularly like taking the truck around town on short stop and go trips. My sales rep position here in town has a lot of stop and go driving, which is just hard on the truck.
Lisa, last night pretty much sucked. You know how much I hate the cold anyway. I think my being not happy about the whole situation is the only thing that kept me warm. LOL Sounds like I should be glad I'm not doing my audits up there this week. -18...damn. I thought -10 up in Rock Valley last week was cold.
Joe, my Wrangler is an '87, the first year of the Wrangler. That year, they kind of cobbled together whatever parts they had lying around. There are two or three different transmissions and at least two different transfer cases for that year. Mine actually has a 5 speed Peugeot, yes Peugeot transmission. I like to row my own in the Jeep, so I will stick with the manual. I may check and see how hard it would be to put a newer & better manual in there if this one is shot.
I think what I'm gonna have to do, with the time constraints of getting it back on the road for the winter weather, is drop the trans and take it to a shop here locally to have it looked at. I'll make a decision after the diagnosis to see if it's worth fixing or should just be replaced. I'd love to tear into it myself, since I've never had a manual trans apart before and would like to learn about it, but need the Jeep back on the road and can't afford the time for a screw up.
Thanks for letting me vent last night.
No problem Jeremy, we all need to vent sometime.
