We were thinking just a few inches, and tires just a bit bigger than stock. NOT bigger than mine. Not allowed.

His was completely stock even 265s and my truck has 285s and a CC SB. I told him to tuck the mirrors and go with it (the carwash was really tight the booms missed the rear of the truck by 5 inches).
Yeah I've started to notice they want a lot more for those Ex's.

I know what you mean about the car wash. About a week ago I stopped at a gas station up the street, they had an automatic car wash and it looked like the truck might fit. I went inside and asked the gal at the counter how tall her carwash was. She said "Is that your big red truck?". I set yeah, it is. And she said "You know I saw you drove by, and I told my husband, 'thats a big red truck!'" I laughed and then she told me there is no way my truck would fit, that it was a few inches too wide, not to mention the height.

LOL! That he is. He tells me he is crazy about me all the time and we constantly talk about our future and our goals. I know he isn't ready for kids though, not for a few years anyway.

Seriously, I paid less than 10k for my pretty much stock 7.3 excursion on ebay this past june. Zimmerman ford is not far from you....greatest ford part department I have ever worked with... check there as well. 4001 first ave se in CR, not far from the lindale mall.

ETA- quick ebay search....

No, I wanted to get him a Cummins dually. WE just started talking about trading in vehicles.

10K is more like it. 21K is too much for those in my book.

Sorry to hear about all of your problems Jeremy. Sounds like a cold, miserable evening.

Not sure what the name of the bowl game was Mark. Just saw a few minutes of it at the end. Played in Las Vegas maybe?

Lisa --> I'd really encourage you to get an '02 or '03 for him (in either Ex or DRW PU configurations). They're just a little more "refined", and if he's as much like me as you say, he'll like the little extra creature comforts. It won't be even close to the Nissan as far as refinements, but as much as I love the older vehicles, I really have grown to appreciate the newer features, too.

Jeremy --> You may have said before, but I don't recall... What year is the Jeep? Is it old enough to have the BW tranny?? I dealt with those POS'es in my 'stang and finally had to give up on it and put in a C6. It just wouldn't hold behind even a lightly modified 302. Let alone behind the bored 351W I put in... I still miss that car sometimes...

I'm off to get some stuff done around the house. Gotta make a Home Depot run. I'll try and check back in in a bit.

About Wolfie --> Forward his post to the mods as the PERFECT reason this needs to stay in the 7.3 forum where none of us will be misunderstood. Those that don't know us will think we're all arrogant, horned-up psychos. And they may not be too far off, but at least we all know it and don't (usually) get too out of hand.

HE is a lot like you. As he would tell you in his own words, he loves his creature comforts. Same lingo as you even. That was his reasoning for wanting a Chebby..the later model dmaxies have better interiors than the Drudges or the Powerstrokes. When he found out I wouldn't allow him to have a maxi, he finally gave in on the Ford I guess. He did want to do some considerable updates to the interior, to his liking, if he were to get an Ex. Someone on here did interior updates, including an inlaid wood dash. Anyone remember who that was? Anyway I told him about that, and about how he could update the interior to make it look a bit more modern.

I agree about the Wolfe posting. Perfect example.

LOL... I still have to chuckle at how he & I are similar. If *I* were to redo mine, I'd go for copying the Lariat and/or King Ranch interior. My buddy's '05 350 DRW has the KR package, and it's really comfy.

Just brainstorming for him at this stage.

We'd buy a stocker and let Randy do his thing, but you get the idea.
Just tell him no banks stuff.

Yeah. His dad has a brand new 6.4 KR, and he likes the interior in that truck.

I like the soft leather seats in it, but the rest of it doesn't impress me all that much. BUT..I am very utilitarian. Unless something has a viable, reasonable purpose, I don't have a whole lot of use for it. I understand that Randy isn't like that, and I respect those needs.

Jacob, do I look like the kind of friend who would let friends put Banks stuff on their trucks?

Thats an excellent idea Pete. However, she does look like a worn out old cougar...hmm...oh well! I know he's strong enough to fight her off!
