Edit: just looked it up. Last year's total snowfall was 59.9". Just up the road, the town of Dubuque got 78.7". Some Colorado ski resorts don't even get that much snow
Stuck stories.....
the only time I was stuck in my SD was back when it was pretty new and had highway tires on it. If a dog peed in the grass in front of my truck it would have been stuck back then. $800 later and a new set of mudgrips, and it hasnt been stuck since!
Me too, Travis has some other kind of software issues. Try telling windows to find the best way for you to connect?????
62 here in Charlotte, but overcast and depressing as hell. But still beats the chit out of snow, slippery roads and freezing rain.
"The world record for the most snow in one year is now held by Mount Baker (elevation: 10,775 feet / 3,285 meters) in Washington State, USA. The Mount Baker Ski Area reported 1,140 inches (95 feet) / 2,896 cm (29 meters) of snowfall for the 1998-99 season."
I told this story a while back.. I have only had my truck stuck once.. I was back on a 2 track that I always drove on.. it wasnt anything new for me to be back here. well the State was taking trees from this area, and heavy equipment was running back and forth on this 2 track.. still wasnt an issue.. There is a section that drives through a creek bed, it is only about 10 feet wide.. Well, in those 10 feet the bull dozers had trenched it out pretty bad.. I eneded up being stuck on my pigs about 3 miles from anyone..
When I finally decided no one was coming back, I started walking.. when I finally hit a road, I could see a couple of trucks off the road a couple hundred yards back. One was in Chevy 2500 extended cab,4x4 duromax, the other was in a 3500 Dodge dually, crew cab, cummins. I asked the guy in the dodge if he would give me a hand..
The guy in the CHevy said he would..I looked over, said, not as in insult, but my truck is 22 feet long, and weighs in at 8800#.. There is not much area to grab traction and I think I am going to need something that weighs as close to me as possible to move me..
He laughs, says get in..off we go, after about 10 mins, he says, well, you made it back farther then most..There was nothing to this trail..
When we start getting back closer he pulls over and says.. got a strap? I tell him no, and all about all the trees that fell at my sister house, and how I loaned the straps and everything to my brother in law..He gets out of the truck and pulls a strap out,, it is only about 4 feet long..
He looks over his shoulder and says come on, I get of the truck, a bit confuesd, this is when he starts telling me he owns the logging company, and kind of feels responsible for me getting stuck.
He goes off and gets this big ol cat bull dozer, drives it down the trail, tells me to hook up my truck..this guy was able to back this thing up with in a inch of my tail gate.. scared the heck out of me.. but, walked me out with out an issue..
Hell I think Im in worst state if you want some snow, I love the snow too. 1in or 3 ft dont bother me one bit.

The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort.
He next announced that he would now buy monkeys at $20 each. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.
the offer increased to $25 each, and the supply of monkeys became so scarce it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 each! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would buy on his behalf.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers: "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has already collected. I will sell them to you at $35 ... and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."
The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all th e monkeys for 700 billion dollars.
They never saw the man or his assistant again, only lots and lots of monkeys!
Now you have a better understanding of how the
WALL STREET BAILOUT PLAN WILL WORK !
It doesn't get much clearer than this................
Dad's bringing the CAT 236B home while I'm at driver's ed tonight. That bugger clears the snow pretty well. Only issue is that you have to be real careful to not tear up the driveway when you turn and when you're scraping. Too much down-pressure can be very bad for asphalt.
