He had a 90 quattro as well that he rebuilt from the ground up, had some fancy intake and (I hate this name) Mega squirt on it. That was very fast as well. I think the one in the video is the 2.8, but I could be wrong. It's now running on gutted cats and he has test pipes on it, so it is way louder now.
Any turbocharged Audi had a cast iron transmission for strength.
The S4 has 3 intake valves, two exhaust valves, dual overhead cam, variable intake cam timing, and a turbo on each side of the engine, stuffing the engine through tuned intake runners. Easily 500 HP with just a chip and two big turbos on each side. Maybe an intake cam with a little more duration, but that is it. In a 2700 lb car 4wd. Clean litter box of course.
They need to breath.
