I drove a Datsun King Cab 2wd pickup, I have no clue how that truck lasted so long haha
You willingly admit that in public? I don't think I've driven one of those rice burners from anyone of those Asian countries in my life. I may have had to ride in one once or twice because I needed a ride to a hospital to save my life or something.
Worked for four days chopping wood for my uncle, then he gave it to me!
I had the choice between the datsun and a 71ish ford half ton with a wrecked tranny and burnt oil bad. Woulda liked the ford but I didnt have a tranny!

in all fairness.......my brother gave it to me. And it was actually fairly cool believe it or not! That thing had the Z motor in it, same as the 240Z came with back in the day. It had 8 spark plugs for 4 cylinders lol. And....in my defense, I drive TWO Fords now
Kind of disappointed I haven't seen Mark or Brent talk about how bad the current 3-ply plywood is compared to the old 5-ply. Not much better than the OSB, aka chipboard.
Joe, it does hold up better than particle board (now called MDF to make it sound better), but the glue/resin that holds the wood chips together does deteriorate when exposed to the rain or UV. The exposure 1 glue (CDX) does help it stay together, but if we'd have had a hail storm every 3-5 years which required your roof to be replaced, the OSB wouldn't be holding up that well. Of course the 3-ply plywood would be telegraphing the rafter by now since it tends to warm more than the old stuff.
You can still get the 5-ply or better in BC (interior) in both pine and hardwoods, but it's a lot more pricey. I used Red Oak for my cabinets when I built my house.
I'm still 12+ pages behind, so if any of this has come up already, I apologize.

Mine was a 83, shortly after that they all became Nissan's instead of Datsun......man I gotta get a scanner, I have pics of ALL my vehicles that I've had thru the years, but not on computer. I'd LOVE to show you guys my 97 F250 PSD.....that thing was a beast!

Please tell me he gave you some cash too. Can you tell I really like rice burners? Hey, I saw a genuine 65 AC Cobra this afternoon. Complete with the side pipes that are really just headers going into a collector, no mufflers. Man was that ever cool. The man was really impressed that I knew what year it was. We were both getting gas at the same place. Me in the Vdub and he in that.

I've never seen one of those. They have two distributors too? Interesting, especially if you play with the timing a little bit.

I have no clue......I changed my own oil, starters & alternators, and that's about the extent of my skillz in those days, I was 16 haha. Those Japs could squeeze some decent power out of small motors though. I used to race a guy that had a stock Challenger, obviously NOT the 440.....but whatever they had smaller then that. I could smoke him off the line, but he'd catch me after about 100 yards
