Im moving to where you live travis!!

Regarding mig welding, does anyone know a rough estimate how thick of metal a smaller mig can handle? (dont know if my machine ever came with specs)

Also, not getting too much into politics, are any of you worried about who may get voted in? Will things change THAT much?

Or if you want to have some fun with it, Put FTE73 for party affiliation...drill here, drill now, outlaw Ultra low sulfur diesel, build more refineries, and diesel fuel is tax deductable.... heck of a platform IMHO.

I don't think we should touch this topic Sheldon. This is a very hotly debated subject and I fear people may get into this one too much.

I for one would rather talk about something else. Like the fake hooters on that cop!

Thanks, he's a self-proclaimed expert on politics although he's been wrong on just about everything possible in this election so far. He will trap you at your desk to "try" to ask for your opinion but it usually ends in a debate. Just one of those people who likes to push his view. I have resulted in calling my desk phone by using my cell in my pocket to excuse myself from talking to him. He will follow you to the coffee machine, the elevator, or even to the john just to talk politics. unreal.

Thats as political as I'll ever get by the way, I hate arguing.
Agreed.

rule of thumb a small mig will weld 3/16,I have welded 1/4 no problem
you can go a little heavier if you preheat
basically .030 .035 and .040 are good for 5/16 steel

As far a politics who ever wins I would hope for a lot of change
I don't like to talk politics so that is all I will say

I love bolt ons, there easy to do, usually only require a skill level of 1-2 hammers, and you get to enjoy the outcome much sooner than say a higher skill level...Bolt ons rock.

Oh yeah, and what Brendan said^^^^^^
