Well you can go tell your wife she has a "ragdoll"..and take comfort that there are other people in this world with cats that wont shut up.

Very cool Scott.

Mark (Markadeck) Thanks for the referral to use Cabots on my deck. It is looking pretty good. So you think I should not use that on the treated wood though? Any suggestions on that?

Who here has experience with starting a website? I had one once but it about bled me dry on the monthly service charge. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for relatively inexpensive site hosting. It's for my construction company, so lots of pictures are a must. Thanks,

GoDaddy.com

I pay $3.99 a month for my site, $10 a year ontop of that.

Great, that's not bad at all. I was paying nearly $120 a month before...

On a different note, do any of you all have any experience with a laptop mount in the truck. Due to me needing the laptop for work (and the PCS software) while I travel around the area, I want to get a laptop mount. Having it slide around on the console or passenger seat just isn't cutting it anymore...especially when you have to jam on the brakes and it goes sliding into the floor.

These are a couple I've been looking at: 1) RAM Laptop Mount - Features ramvb108sw1 Laptop Vehicle Mounts Stands Desks For SUV Truck Ford Excursion F-150 F-250 , 2) Ford F350 Laptop Truck Stand by Jotto Desk They're more expensive than I would have thought, but since I need the computer in the truck, I'm looking at it as an insurance policy against damage from hitting the floor. Any others out there I should be looking at? Hopefully some of you have some experience with them. Brandon is the first one that comes to mind, since he has a similar type of position as me, but I don't know if he uses a computer during the day while working.
Here you go Jeremy, I got one of these for the tuna can when I bought it
EBAY link Car Vehicle Laptop Computer NB GPS Mount Holder Stand - eBay (item 170265609757 end time Oct-03-08 19:16:50 PDT)

MUCH cheaper than a Jotto or RAM
It comes with enough mounting pieces that I put a base in the truck too, and by just unlatching the little quick release I can move it from vehicle to vehicle
It comes with straps to hold the laptop to the stand, but I found that a small piece of tool drawer liner works just as well. I have to take my computer into each of the customers that I visit, and the undoing of velcro got to be a pain.
Very high quality, all aluminum and steel.

pics.

But, thats paying just the basics. You have to do all the maintenance and uploading yourself...it worked for me because I have a friend who does site design and programming and I could threaten him with a wedgie and get him to do all that stuff for me.

Did that $120 include site maintenance/design, any of that stuff?

Yeah, it was full service. Design, hosted, maintained. But, I went in repeatedly and changed out pictures, sayings, etc. So it turned into me doing all the work anyways by the end. Plus, the only people that used my site where people that knew me so it wasn't a big money maker. I just cant justify that kind of money if it doesn't work. I dont have anybody to threaten with a wedgie, so I'll need to handle it myself! Just had a few flashbacks to elementary school, something about atomic wedgies....ouch

Brent, if you can do basic page design, you can design a simple website.

DreamWeaver is probably the easiest program out there, it writes all the code for you.

Thanks Brandon. That is definitely less expensive. Gives me something to think about. I don't often have to take the computer into my customers places, but do need it to write and place orders once I get back to the truck. My only concern is how hot it would get...From the caption under one of the pics: "The revolving ability can reach 2430 degrees"

Brent, I'll agree with Lisa about DreamWeaver. It's a breeze to use. It's similar to the WYSIWYG editor's here on the forum, but much more powerful. I've done everything from writing all the code out with the direct HTML commands to using DreamWeaver to make some decently complex pages. DreamWeaver makes things like frames a lot easier to deal with.

lol. Well, are they any good?

If you handle the printing side of things, I'll see what I can do about a redesign. You can owe me a margarita later.

I was kind of joking about it getting hot...a play on the caption under the picture. My laptop runs pretty cool actually, but the powered USB hub would be kind of nice, only having to unplug one cable and leaving accessories plugged into the hub.
