Supposedly, after a hurricane there are lots of outbreaks of colds. Not sure how true that is but, Susan has been sick since last week and I have a few guys out, all with bad cold symptoms.
Scott, that actually makes sense.
You have people held up in the same quarters for long periods of time, sharing germs (and with no running water, people can't wash hands, bathe, or wash things properly).
Also there are lots of different bacteria that thrive in those types of conditions: wet, muggy, no circulation, no ventilation.
Compounded by the fact that a hurricane is stressful business. Stress weaken's a person's immune system and makes them more suseptible.
I only played one year of football (senior) and wrestled in my junior year - both of those were just to keep me in shape for lacrosse, which I played all 3 years. I liked being able to get a head of steam from 20yds off and just lay somebody out. It wasn't just "mash the crap out of them" style lacrosse, we had some good sticks too... but if you can't take a beating, don't step on the field. Every year we invited the football guys out to play......
Our biggest guys in football were the Rowley brothers; Kevin & Dante. Dante was 6' 4" and 240.... SOLID. Kevin was 6' 7" and 270. They're dad was a bodybuilder/power lifter. Man did those boys scare (and HAMMER!!!) people on the field.
Neither one of them would step on the lacrosse field though... "you whiteboys are just CRAZY!!"

The limited times(espn2) I have seen Lacrosse, I have to agree with the Dante brothers assessment.
We dont have lacrosse this far south, and everytime I catch a match on t.v. I think "why are all those white boys out there beating each other with butterfly nets" It must just be a Northern thing that I just dont understand.

butterfly nets.... I just about spit a mouth full of coffee when I read that Lacrosse is getting popular here in Az, my old HS now has a team.
As you all know......I'm very much into hunting. I just got this texted to me from a good friend of mine. His green score is 389 and that's with 10 inches broken off! I'm frikkin EXCITED for him!!!!!! This Bull will most likely make the top 25 in the world!.......I'm headed out tomorrow morning to help another friend! Gotta love the big bulls in AZ
DAYUM, those are some big azz trucks. I would give just about anything to drive a truck that big
My buddy has an International CXT. He let me drive once. I hit a car, and figured out that i hit the car about 100ft later when i smelt burning rubber!
Aparently what happened was he was backing out of a drive way and "didn't see me" I hit him at a low speed and pushed him down the road

I'm likin this idea. At least I can't drop it down the garbage disposal.
Travis, that's a big bull. I hope he didn't face a long walk packin that sucker outta there.
I was an offensive lineman, the center. I also did the long snaps. It was odd to have a center as small as me (5' 10", 165 lbs -- coach listed me at 185), but I never had a problem with it. I was very very quick and never let the defensive guys get a step on me and learned how to control them. Plus, my legs are quite strong, so I'd just hit them low and drive away with my legs. Man, they hated that. Defensive guys couldn't stand that here they are 6' something and 200+ pounds being controlled by this scrawny little center.
What sucks about the playoffs is we only went my sophomore year, and made it 2 games past the regular season. The other two years, both our conference and district titles hinged on one game, which we ended up losing, so that was it for us. It sucked bad my junior year when we were 9-1, but had nothing to show for it. No conference or district championships, no playoffs, nothing. Both years we lost it to a school that we honestly shouldn't have even been playing, and the year after I graduated the whole district and conference was restructured and that team wasn't in either one of my hometown's anymore. Oh well.

He was great for filling in the gap, but just didnt have enough speed to rush the backfield. Freshman year we went 12-1, 2nd place in state, sophmore year 13-0 state champs, junior year( the year my football career ended) 12-1 2nd in state. I was chop blocked in the state championship of my junior year and blew out both my knees, had many SEC schools watching me during that game and was going to play college ball, but the Doc said my knees would never be 100% again.
Man I miss those glory days.......
I played left gaurd and some center too, starter 3 years on varsity and never weighed more than 185 until a year after I graduated. I was like Jeremy, not very big but I had strong legs and good form. There was a guy whos playing at Tennesse now (I think he was about 6-3 325 at the time) who I pissed off real bad because he was the top recuit in the state and and didnt even have a tackle when he was up against me.
My freshman year we went 9-0 on Jv, and then 7-3 sophmore year missed the playoffs barly, junior year we went 12-2 got 2nd in states to the same team that beat us in the regular season, senoir year we went 11-3 and lost at states again, in a BS game. The refs were talking after the game and my dad and a few people happened to over hear them, they were instucted from people higher up in the state to "make some calls for Suitland (the team we were playing) so it would be a good game" since Montgomery county (where I lived) has won more state championships than the rest of the state combined... of course once the few people who heard that confronted the refs they booked it and could never be found again. The state "lost" the list of refs for that particular game and couldnt go back and change the outcome of the game based on what people "thought" they heard, is what my coach was told.... Even some of there players told the papers that they didnt get in on a few TDs on 4th down that the refs said they did.
