To the moderators I would say: the members of this forum are what makes it great. Without all the members you wouldn't have a forum. You wouldn't have any paid members. And you wouldn't have any ad revenue. So don't act like it is a privilege to post here. If you can't take a little ribbing by a forum member, you should request to have your moederator privileges revoked. You aren't the internet police; don't let it go to your head. You can't take it personally. If someone complains to you about a member signature, ask them to change it. But don't go out and proactively assume someone is being offended. And if you do ask someone to change something to be more PC, I think you should probably EXPECT their new signature to point out that they didn't get to say what they wanted to.

Don't pull that grade school bs where you "punish the whole class because of one kid." If you wanna change the rules, change the rules, but don't single someone out and blame it on that person. Thats just building up hate inside the forum. Why would you want to do that?

To cheeto: There are lots of forums, if you don't like it here, go somewhere else. How important is it to have some snide comment in your signature, in the grand cosmic scheme of things?

Hasteranger, you have to understand that it's not quite "punishing the whole class because of one kid." It's a little different when that whole "class" gets special privileges.

I have to admit, I would not be here if it were not for the off-road forum. Or if I was, it wouldn't be a constant thing. The off-road forum is much more lax on the rules, partially, if not all thanks to Carlene. This is a "family oriented" forum. There is no reason to complain about it. If you do not want to post "family oriented" content, then you can go to other places to post like that.

I post a certain way too, usually how I post other places. I know that the off-road forum is a little more lax, and I probably wouldn't be able to post how I wanted if it wasn't for that. But Carlene and Dave are right, to complain because you don't get your way is childish. There is nothing gained by having that signature, your not letting out some hidden truth, you did it because you felt like it, but when you were asked to remove it, you have to whine about it.

You know how FTE is, you know how it's been for quite awhile. No sense whining every single time you get told you can't do something. I know Cheeto is a member other places so there's no reason to insult the mod that has allowed you to post the way you want for so long.

well then, sorry i pointed that out. didn't mean to get everyone's panties in a bunch. hell, at least carlene is supposed to wear panties, unlike the rest of you freaky *******s

on second thought, i prefer to think that she doesn't wear panties at all. i prefer to think of her in thigh high leather boots and a cowboy hat with a riding crop in one hand and a beer in the other, but i'm kind of kinky like that

Oh c'mon, cheeto. Does that even make sense to you? I mean really? Closing threads and banning members being what fte is all about?

...sigh...

Things just aren't the same without Timmy around....

I notice from your posting history that you don't post in this forum, except for this thread. Maybe you should take a little time to look at what me and my co-mod's allow to go on in this forum before you take any pot shots at our moderator team. This Offroad Forum is unlike any other forum on FTE. As for paid memberships and ad revenue's, we are all volunteers, yes me included, so any revenue's earned by this site do not effect us one bit. Heck I've purchased my 3 year memberships ever since I joined this site because of the friends I've made and the ads I don't have to see by being a member.

Hmmm, I had to quote myself from posts 489 of this thread to respond to this one because I could have sworn that I mentioned that I told him PRIVATELY to CONSIDER changing his sig, so I do believe I handled it correctly.

As for taking a ribbing, bring it on - just keep it within the FTE guidelines.

I don't play grade school games. If you participated in this forum (meaning the Offroad Forum), you would know that me and my co-mod's do whatever we can to keep this forum in control without reverting 100% to the FTE guidelines. I noticed from your posts that you keep it clean and appear to abide by the rules you agreed to when you signed up. The Offroad guys are and always have been a different breed and we give them allowances for that, but only in this Offroad forum. Should I decide to change the rules of this Offroad Forum, I would be changing them to meet the rules of FTE so basically, we would be like the rest of FTE but without as many members posting in here.

To cheeto: There are lots of forums, if you don't like it here, go somewhere else. How important is it to have some snide comment in your signature, in the grand cosmic scheme of things?
This one I will agree with.

All I've got to say about this is if members were bickering back and forth this much in the open forum, some unknown mod would have swept in and deleted all the posts to keep the thread on track. Sounds like this is about time for a cleaning....

In other words, play nice children! If members can't bicker, NO ONE should!

Cheeto, suck it up, and finish the truck! You've jew'd enough parts this far, just put it all together to drive it. Paint can come later after it's all done and working right.

I read this and realized shes 1000% right. (yes thats 1000 and not 100)

I will add, since 99% of my post over the years are in the offroad forum, that its usually the outside mods that come in here "lurking" that are over zealous and generally cause us trouble. Its rare for Carlene, Rob or Jesse to lay down the ban hammer but not totally unheard of....cough Paul cough.

Ive never been banned by an offroad mod but she did promise me naked pics of her on the hood of a Bronco. Still waiting btw....
