Cummins Conversion Update
Seems I told someone this would happen if they were not installed when I bought them?? Have been swamped w/ work, but now starting to get irritated...nothing like the warranty running dry in a box
I need your help!
Yeah, I know. We just couldn't get it worked out. You're probably looking at late August to early September before I've got wrench time. Gotta get my rig running before Moto GP at Indy, since I'm hauling 3 other people and a trailer full of bikes up there. That's the weekend of Sept 14.

Take your time on your swap...get real good at it and I'll have you throw a Cummins in mine!Hmmm, don't tempt me. I'll have to mapquest the distance. Are you installing H11's on his rig?
I got the headstuds installed today. It was kind of a PITA though. Not because it was difficult, but because of the retorquing that ARP requires. I may have already said it, but they required the 3 step torque sequence a total of 4 times...with 26 studs, it just took a while.

Also, the rocker riser box, which also houses the injector wiring, had to be clearanced just a bit to clear the extra height of the studs. A little work with the Dremel and it fit fine.

I'm trying to do it right. I love turning wrenches and working on stuff, but once this engine goes in the truck I really don't want to have to touch it for a while, just enjoy it. I'm spending a little more on it now than I had initally planned to, but it's just stuff I won't have to do later.
Jason, we are putting head studs and valve springs in his truck, 250cc hybrids on a stock pump for now, with a stock h2e. They are ARP's, not H-11s, but same principle. As easy as it was for me to pull the engine in 5 hours practically by myself, it would almost be as easy for me to pull your engine rather than wrestle around with it in the truck, plus it'd be a good time to paint anything up

Oh, and to finally meet you
Jeremy, that thing is sick.It looks awesome and I am sure it's fun to do all that wrenching. It's going to be so nice when it's done. I think that taking your time and thinking it through like you are is the way to go. Think back to how disappointed you were when your motor blew, and contrast it with the excitement you feel about that Cummins. I am sure there is quite a contrast.
