Bummer on losing the internet, how often does it happen?
That sled does look pretty good, what year is it?
The big one is a 98 and the little one is an 84. Both are in immaculate condition. I'd really like to get newer, but these sleds are like new and for the amount we get out, due to our busy hockey schedule, they work just fine. I've driven many new sled's, and I really don't se a big difference in handling and performance. Mind you we really only ride in the field out front, or hit the local trail's. For what we have we have a ball.
Hey grant! Our sleds are late 90's as well, think 98, and 99. We found that for the 3500ish bucks we paid for both of them, they suit our needs just fine!
My summit can lay a whooping on many newer sleds still, plus both of our sleds are reliable as hell, which I love!

Sheldon............ Vintage guy's, vintage sled's, can't beat it. I've always been a sled head, even before the movie Ice Age came out, our tight group of friend's called ourselve's " Sub Zero Hero's ".When the critter's are all growed up, we're fixin' to get us some early 2000 unit's.
I love vintage sleds! First sled I rode was a 440 ski roule, and my dad still has it tucked away in a shed at his place. one day when I have nothing to do I am gonna go get it and ret it running, maybe swap a 583 into it or something, maybe go with original if I can find parts for the ol sachs engine.
Its past my bedtime all ready but for some reason I cant seem to fall asleep!
I'm beat too. I may have found my second wind. Sheldon, talking about sled's, that's how I met my wife. My best bud and a Sub Zero Hero's wife worked in the same office as my wife. One day my buddy's wife was in the cafeteria and overheard this girl talking about jetting sled's. My buddy's wife say's to her: you ride? she say's yes, I ride Yamaha's. Well my buddy's wife say's, Boy have I got a guy for you, are you with someoneWell the next day she tell's me this and say's, Invite her to our buddy's wedding social. I've never met or seen her, so another buddy, who's a contracter in her building leaves a picture of me and a social ticket on her computer say's, you really have to go and meet this guy. It was june 22nd, 1984, we met on a blind date, talked sled's all night, and the rest is history. I could write a book about this.
I met my wife at a bar, was gonna try for a one night stand but she kept tracking me down haha.
Story might be tweaked a wee bit!
Have you always been a yamaha guy? I have been kinda looking for a used 4 stroker with a 136 or maybe 144 track on it. I hear ya can really get those sleds going fast!
Only concern for me is weight, cause I do ride a lot of "off road" kinda riding (opposed to trails and hills and whatnot)

Yamaha is the only sled I've ever own'd. My first was a 77 STX340 in 78, then bought a 79 SRX in 81, It was a local lake racer, nothing off the line, but hold on after 30 mph. After that a local dealer wanted my sled bad and made me an offer I couldn't refuse on a 84 phazer (there 1st year) Road that sucker till 91, put 15,000km on her with Bender's head pipe mod's and Boisen reed's. It went from 56HP to 85 with those mod's. I then sold it to my nieghbour and he sold it to his nephew, with the motor never touched. It ended uo having 24,000k on it before it finally gave up the ghost. In 91 we bought 2 identical 91 Exciter II's, i put Bender pipe's and clutch mod's in, bored the carb's from 38mm to 39.2, put a brand new Polaris XLT 3/4 lug track on, ( it was new because one of my bud's opted for a Camoplast lightning for his sled ) That sled was a weapon. In 2003, we sold both Exciter's and bought the Vmax, rebuilt her bone stock and never looked back. The Bravo is a whole other story. Sometimes I'd rather drive it than tha Max, reliving the old day's, lol.
