Gerry, Hows the ride on that truck? Like on dirt roads and like that? I am looking for a rig that will ride better than my Bronco on dirt roads. I am thinking yours is prolly most like a heavy half ton truck. Have ya had it long enough to figure that out yet?
Morning Ger. We had a little mild blast here also. A day of rain, yesterday was nice and sunny, today is freezing rain and rain, then more snow end of the week. I'm getting ready to pour an ICF basement on thursday, hopefully the weather holds out until after that!!!!
Sherm whats the dry time on the icf your pouring? For ours it was 21 days before we could move our house onto it.
Gerry congrats on your new ride! I cant say much about the rest of your vehicle, but I had a 4.6 liter engine in a 97 f150 I used to have, and it was a solid tough little engine. Got slightly over 20 mpg on the highway (driving nice) had lots of power as I pulled a few loads through the mountains that were way to much for the truck, and it handled them well.
Often pondered getting a 4.6 to throw in my 51 merc project over the 5.0.
7 days before backfill, this time of year, yes, 21 days before moving a complete house on the foundation. We're stick framing, so the weight will be gradual. It'll be 21 days or more before complete structure is on the foundation.
Yeah sounds exactly like ours was. I remember a few years ago when we built you didnt know much about icf, have any more knowledge/opinions about them now?
Ours was a crapshoot as we never had any experience besides alot of research, but its been excellent. Bit of a pain when I ran the electrical and hung and finished the drywall, but its been excellent ever since. We got a really high energy rating that the tester that came out said there was no way we could have accomplished that with a solid cement, or wood framed.
Not that it really matters except for that little sticker on my power box haha.
Speaking of back fill I finally got the wraps on my last dirt work job for the year, it was a muddy mess. I`m glad I`m finally finished for the year and can put my feet up now.
