Those were pretty good engines, again generally speaking.
We had a 35? horse johnson that we got on a boat for cheap, it didnt run the best either. I changed the plugs and fixed a broken wire, cleaned the carbs and the little engine ran like a dream after that, like brand new. It was a good little engine.
Think johnson and evinrudes were pretty much the same as well from my recollection.
Manic Monday, it went by far too fast. I spent a good chunk at work dealing with customs issue's. Oh well, there's allways next weekend. Have a good one guy's.
The older engines are pretty basic, no FI or other such nonsense. Of course the newer 4 strokes are alot quieter and likely alot nicer.
Basic is sometimes nice to work on, but it seems that sometimes the not so basic stuff doesnt need alot of working on either. Kinda catch 22. Ive heard the new 4 strokes and 2 strokes are really nice. The 4 strokes are supposed to be great on fuel.
We have an inboard which has its minus's, but for what we do its been pretty good. Only complaint is it doesnt plane out quite as fast as an outboard when towing a heavy skier, or two tubes. We are working on a solution for that with a whale tail type deal, and after that maybe a stainless prob.
This weekend was a gooder but was pretty fast. I cant complain, this is the last month of working for me then im off for 8ish months
Sucks ya had to deal with customers crap all weekend Grant!
Welcome back Aaron, I often wondered where you were hiding.
Customs is never fun to deal with!
Congrats on the Explorer Gerry, I like the price, 6500$ and the 4.6!
I just love that........one guy asks a question then 2 random dorkheads argue about some thing totally unrelated, we have some lousy members in that forum, sorry for the rant....
