go buy a new truck and make payments. It will give you personal satisfaction to be driving something reliable, and perhaps some luck with some quality ladies as they would prefer to ride around in a shiny new truck over a smelly old beater...

While I agree that a new every day truck is alot nicer to drive and alot more practical I still like to occasionally putter with an old stubborn beast with no end of problems that`s got an actual heart and soul.
What`s happening with your truck Sherm? We want pictures.
If it fires when cranking but not after you release the starter, I would check to see if you are getting voltage to the distributor with the key on, engine not running.
Fuel tank wouldn't be the issue and neither would the vacuum. Fuel overall however... very possible.
I just checked the dizzy and I get sparks when she turns over, so we're good there.... right?
None of the vacuum tubes have moved at all since I took the cab off (and she ran last time).

Aaron, check your timing, and distributer location.
How the hell do I check those? Never heard of "dizzy location".

Hmm... and where do I check this? Take the boot off the dizzy and toss a multimeter arm down the top?
Put your probe on the minus side of the coil, key on engine off. Should get voltage there.
[If you have points, you wil have to block them open with a match book or some non conductor.]
Good Friday mornin all. Me an Kalan have Been under the weather for a few day's, today looks good. the PO of my truck called last night and found more part's for me. If I fell better this afternoon I'll Head over there and take a look. have a great day guy's
Morning guys, last day of work then a few weeks off!
Aaron, what I meant is you could have your distributer off by a tooth, or half a turn or whatever. Timing can do funny things sometimes. If your getting fuel and consistent spark (like what Bruce has suggested might be the problem), then I would think something is up somewhere with your timing. I cant remember if you pulled that engine apart, but there is internal parts that could be issues as well.
Sherm had a excellent thought about fuel getting there but partially blocked as well.
Good evening Gerry, Grant and Sheldon.
Hopefully you did feel better and could grab those parts.
What are you doing on your time off Sheldon? Are you all done your classes?
If your weather is as beautiful as our`s is tonite I totally agree. My dog sitter is out of town this weekend so I`m staying here at home but that`s not a real bad thing.
I had to do an oil change and afew other maintenance items on my L8000 gravel truck so there went my evening but tomorrow will see my riding my Honda Shadow....if the rain holds off.
