Good evening gang, I made it too the truck show & I had a great day

 

yes, a good friend and I were talking about that, how the 5.0 should be turbo'd. It would make one fun truck!! Still undecided on this 5.0, whether I would buy one or not over the Ecoboost. The more I drive it under different conditions and driving in a different style, it is very different than the Ecoboost.

I've got a package picked out from 5-Star Tuning. Intake, Exhaust, and Tuner, according to the dyno charts he has should net about 100hp, 80lbft of torque... Just waiting for my truck to get back to me here...I've been hearing about the rear ends being bad in these trucks. I know a guy with an '11 like mine and he had his clutch packs changed out twice already. My truck has a shimmy/shake in it at very low speed acceleration, more exxagerated when towing. I fear that it might be the rear end as well. I've asked them to look at that as well while they have it there.

Went to the Truck/Tractor pulls last night. More fun than I expected. Longest pull was by a super truck named "Hunter", had a 2002 Ford style mod-body on it. At the end of this page Truck and Tractor Pull Event Competitors is a picture of "The Hunter", but I can't find any specs on its running gear.

Sounds neat on the 5.0 plans but a tuner would void Ford`s.

The dealer you use for sales and service has a lot to do with whether or not a tuner voids your warranty...

I'm hoping to find out more about that "Hunter" truck also. It is a very impressive unit, seeing as it beat the Jet Engine powered Great Western Breweries tractor...lol

 

Boss Blue is a local tractor pulling team that`s been around for a very long time. The team has an open house GTG every summer and so far I haven`t made it yet.

very true sherm, I guess being a Tech myself I don't worry as much about that because I fix my own Junk. I have the philosophy if you mod your S*&^, Be prepared fix your s*&^. And don't expect someone else to pay for it!!
