Hi Laredo, don't sell the 70 fastback, that's where I made my mistake!
My favorite is also the 69", I had the 69 Mach I 428 ram air cobra-jet
R-code, 4:30 gears, she was sweet. Sold her! Bought the 67 10 years
later. I'll put up some pics of the stang for you
WOW, the car you sold is my second favorite of all time - the only car I'd rather have is a Boss 429!!!
Nice 67 Dennis - looks good...
New Mustangs are nice but as far as I`m concerned you can`t beat the cars from our youth.
Morris, the classics are very very special.
However, it all depends on what a person wants / wants to do with their vehicle.
I personally dont have the time or energy to work on a project vehicle, my livelihood involves lots of shop time doing maintenance and repair on a fleet of farm equipment and construction equipment - a hobby that involves 'wrenching' isnt for me,
I want a vehicle to drive 10000 kms / year in the summers - a trip or 2 to the mountains, etc. Probably a trip to Stoon each wknd, etc. The oldies wont do that for me.
There are countless arguments both ways (classics dont depreciate, new ones have creature comforts like A/C, etc etc). A 4-5 year old car has taken its biggest hit already and most of the cars in the class I am looking at were not driven much... I am hoping to offset a bit of the cost by trimming some kms off my diesel!
The fact that a ZO6 is faster than almost any other car out there is a bit of a plus - I think they are 12 second cars with street tires that go 300kph, with A/C...
It seems that 90% of tire trouble is in the last 10% of the tire life......
Missed this before!
No worries there Morris, Ive changed and worked on thousands of different sized, models, and makes of tires, I can spot a "good" one thats just about worn, that would last alot longer then the ones I have!

Man do you ever have that right. Im a builder and not a buyer, and when i plan out my build I always come back to the newish technology in my old ride to meet my needs/wants.

I gotta be honest with ya, I think they are ugly as hell! I sure love the power and whatnot of them though. Its really an amazing machine. I may have missed it before, but what abouts are one of those puppies still worth?
If I was given that choice, i wouldnt for simply money reasons.
The superduty will NEVER hold its value like a z06 would. Take the values of the z06 and the SD in 10, then 20 years, and the SD will never compete.
That being said I really like the new superduties and would buy one over a z06, but thats cause Im really more of a truck guy, and the cars I do like are mainly older ones.
Gimme that performace in my 1929 Model A roadster though please!!!! lol
Ya I live near Guelph, its about 4 hrs South of me,who do you know?
I dont actually know anyone there, but Ive been dealing on a motorbike out there and everytime I see someone from sorta around that area, Ive been asking how close they are. Im going to try to round someone up to go check it out for me before I pull the pin and just buy it haha.
I also plan on buying one of the new 6.7 liter super duties, but I think Im going to wait a couple years yet, just so i can see them prove themselves, plus Ill be honest, I would like to do a few more mods to my next diesel to get it to pour a little more power then stock out of it.
Been pondering upgrading the good ol 7.3 to a 6.4 liter truck, as Ive been somewhat helping Ryan shop for a 6.0 liter truck, and Ive came across some very nice, reasonabley priced 6.4 trucks.

I think what you are is more in the category of a resto-mod. Classic appearance with benefits of newer technology. There is lots of this - I saw a TV show where the long time custom builder, SOCAL, was building some modern engine packages in older (like 1932ish) cars and running them through testing in CA emissions! Sometimes I wish I wasnt always building stuff in the shop that makes $$$ - thus my energies would still remain to build anything! Same goes here for house renos, etc. If I felt I could save $$ doing it myself, I should be doing this rather than running the businesses we do now!
Dont get me wrong, I used to do all the work on my vehicles and do customizing and house renos in my younger days too. I wouldnt ever again... the bills are tax deductible if done properly

I did not like the looks of the C5 Vette; however the C6 is one I like - especially the ZO6 because the body lines and wheel flares are wider, the tires are bigger, and the wheels are in line with anything the aftermarket produces...I think $40-45 is the range I am looking at. There are cheaper ones that were used more, and more expensive ones that never were driven. The C6 debuted in 2006...

I hear you, no getting away that while a 12 second street beast is fun for the man on the go I prefer something that I can tinker without being lost under the hood. Now in my second childhood I do have the time to play with these cars.
