MadsonP i am jealous of you for having that nice place to work on stuff at home lol.. I have to come all the way to my shop to work on my stuff. Me and my old man was talking about buildin one of those types of building this summer coming and puttin some lifts in it, how much did that building set you back? I havent found my way to the shop yet lol, still tryin to wake up and put some boots on lol.. So as soon as i get there il see if i can copy and paste the info you need sbclemens.
Yep, it sure is nice to have the room. The building kit cost me $18,000, then the concrete was $8400. To save money I put the building up myself. I bought the building from Heritage Building Systems.
Nice workshop. How do you heat that thing? 88FordF-150, I'm just about finished cleaning the block. The old gasket material is a pain to get off. I would have been done sooner if MadsonP had come down to help. On the map, he's only three inches away.

True, it's only 3" on the map but it might as well be 3000 miles. When I have work to do in my shop when it's cold out, I have a wood stove to heat it with.
We use to use kerosene heaters in our barn back in upstate NY. But it was only 60 cents/gallon at the time. It turns out 9 out of 16 lash adjusters were bad. I never had any tapping issues except when the engine was first turned over. I'm glad 88FordF-150 suggested I get the valve train checked since I had the heads apart anyway.
Me too! Once I've got the whole thing back together, I'm going to have to come up with another project. Maybe some method of lifting the body off the chasis that doesn't require lifts.
I'd like to hinge the front end so all I have to do is pull a couple of pins andthe front end will pivot up towards the front. Then all I need is a socket set and a lawn chair to change the plugs. I think 88FordF-150 fell into his dad's septic tank. Hope he was wearing a life jacket.
I have Ford factory service manuals for a 2000 Expedition.
If you want, i can scan the directions for you.
Let me know.
Randy
Thanks Over_Kill, I've picked up a copy of the 98 shop manual. That along with this link http://www.modulardepot.com/articlesp.php?aid=32
should get me through it without messing things up too badly.
