I'm getting good hot air out of the front, the kids won't let me turn it on in the rear with them in the car. I don't know why, it was only 97 yesterday.
Oh, that explains it. We say the same thing about our cold temperatures up here in Montana. It's a dry cold. So has your coolant level stabilized and staying constant ? I was just looking back through the thread to remember how all this started, I didn't realize we've been doing this for two months.
So far I haven't had to add any coolant. But I'll give it a couple of weeks to work out that air pocket I KNOW is hiding in there somewhere. It took 2 months but if I was able to work on it non-stop, it probably is more like 2 weeks. 1 week for the assembly and disassembly and another for the cleaning. If I had it to do over again, I think I would have pulled the engine. This way I could have thrown a set of new rings in while I was at it. It also would have made cleaning and reassembly easier.
Whoa, what will i do with my free time now that this thing is fixed? LOL nah its good to hear this thing is back on the road! Seem like it runs a little quiter since the valve job? Im sure it runs a little healthier!
Well I'd say since everythings back together and running good it's time for a party at sbclemens. I'll bring the beer and 88 can bring the pop.....Oh, heck he can have beer, he earned it.
Yup! No more death rattle from the valve train when it first starts up. Do you think I should buy some straws for 88 if you're going to give him a beer?
HAHA OMG you guys kill me with these underage jokes LOL, no but seriously my pap has like three old walkers down the basement of my house, if we do have a get together, i could bring em for you old farts LMAO!!
I haven't had to add a drop of coolant since I first started the engine. So, I'm thinking all is well. My next project will be to install a sub in the back. It'll be a fresh install since the expy didn't come with one. So, I'm doing some research right now. I'm also waiting on my factory wiring diagrams so I can figure out if I can do a permanent fix to the brake switch issue instead of walking around with a spare switch in my pocket. Madsonp is the entertainment expert so maybe he can give me some info on what I need to do with the sub. I'm current running the head unit into the factory amp then out to cross overs installed in the doors. The kids want the sub in so that when I take them to see "Iron Man", I can play a little Black Sabbath to get them in the mood.
Yea, when it comes to turnin a wrench, i know what im talkin bout, but when it comes to subs and such, not so much LOL.. What kind of issues are you havin with your brake switch? Im assumin brake light switch??

Stereo huh ? Yep, I can help you there. First of all what do you have for a head unit ? Second, how much are you willing to spend, and how fancy do you want to get. What does your right side rear pannel look like ? Do you have a space in this pannel ? Are you interested in a sub with a built in amp or an external amp ? Do you want a custom fit sub that mounts like the factory one or does it matter ?
