Here's a couple of photo's of my expy on my new lift. Did an oil change today, the most enjoyable oil change I've ever done.
GIT - R - DONE!!! ^^^ Now all you need is your axle lifts for it and your golden! What is it with you old timers and havin all kinds of stuff layin 'round from the 1920s LOL (i have to throw in jabs when i can to get back for the drinkin cracks LOL) (no offense intended).
Yep, there's a electric hydraulic pump (120V 30A) that drives a cylinder that's connected to four 1/2" cables that, in turn are connected to the legs via a pulley system. It lifts the expy with no effort, and is very stable. It isn't required to be bolted down, and came with a set of casters so it can be easily moved around to where ever it's needed. Right now, when I'm not using it I put my firebird on it then my tractor underneath it to give me more room in the shop.
Ok Madsonp, if you're done showing off, I need some information quickly. The cylinder head temperature sensor is located on the left cylinder head. The right cylinder is symmetric with respect to the left. The port on the right cylinder where the temperature sensor would normally go is open. Is there suppose to be a plug in it. It may have been left out when I had the heads over in the machine shop. I'd really like to know before I put the intake manifold back on. By the way, cute tractor. Is that your wifes?
Do I need to prime the water pump by adding coolant through the thermostat housing prior to cranking the engine for the first time?
Negitive, just fill up the rad, and top rad hose, and you will be ok. Im sure you know how to bleed out the air, and let the therm open and add more coolant.. Man are you gettin close on this thing?? **** we were talkin bout heads, now were down to the waterpump LOL (im just kiddin buddy).
(Note: In these cups is POP not beer, as we all no im not of the legal age LOL)
Um, id change the oil, and just take a few minutes to look over everything, make sure its all in place. Um, you will have to prime the fuel rails a little bit, just turn the key on and off about 5-10 times (dont crank it), and it will get fuel up there. Should be good to go!
Sorry, I've been out of commision the last few day's (bad case of the flu) I agree with 88 and can't think of anything else you'd need to do, just have anitfreeze ready to add, so then let's fire that puppy up (and cross our fingers). Oh, and 88....pop ???? yeah, right.
The engine spun about 3 times and fired right up like new. I added coolant to the upper radiator hose as you suggested. I think I've added 1/2 quart of coolant since then. So day 3 and so sign of leaks or running hot. I think its a done deal. I'd like to thank you and Madsonp (who's mad at me since I made that comment about his tractor) for all the help along the way.

Don't worry, I'm not mad about the tractor comment, because I know you wish you had one with flames. I'm really glad everythings running good and all that work we did fixed the problem (ok, you did all the work) but all this typing wasn't easy either you know. It's been a pleasure working with you and 88 on your project, and I hope the next time one of us has a problem with our expy we can put our heads together again (that wasn't meant as a joke....really). One question, did you turn on your heater to make sure you got good hot air and everything else looks good there ?
